Today we celebrate the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary! This great feast honours Mary, conceived without sin. Mary, who humbly embraced God’s will and brought forth the saviour of the human race. That we celebrate this during Advent is appropriate. As Pope John Paul II said, this is a season of ‘watchful and prayerful preparation for Christmas’:
‘She who knew better than anyone how to wait attentively for the Lord guides us … With her, we spend these weeks in prayer and, guided by her bright star, hasten to make the spiritual journey that will lead us to celebrate the mystery of the Incarnation with greater intensity.’
May the Mother of God bring us closer to the mystery of her son, the Word made flesh, this Advent. 🙏🙏🙏

We had our largest turnout for steak night yet, and we were blessed to have Fr. Napoles share both his testimony and give a talk on prayer.

Another great turnout for steak night. Special thanks to Fr. Pearce for speaking on constant prayer - 'Find God not in the spectacular, but in the ordinary'.

For more than 20 years, young people from around Melbourne have been gathering at St Patrick’s Cathedral on a Thursday night for a time of quiet prayer and adoration of our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament. Come along this Thursday (21 September @ 6.30pm), where Archbishop Peter A Comensoli will lead us in adoration and guest speaker John Pridmore will share his incredible story of God’s mercy and love. All welcome! 🙏

Sorrow is a profound and confusing feature of human existence, especially the kind of sorrow that pierces the soul to its very depths. Since her earliest centuries, the Church has seen in Mary a woman who experienced the deepest and darkest of sorrows by watching the barbarous death of her only child, Jesus. In the same way that she accompanied him, Mary accompanies us today as Our Lady of Sorrows, journeying with us through the ‘vale of tears’ and into the joy of Christ’s risen glory. Our Lady of Sorrows, pray for us!

Bittersweet scenes last weekend as Frassati says goodbye to '234', thus ending our five-year presence in Mount Waverley. Almost 30 young men have called Frassati home, and many more have joined us in our events, including hikes, surf trips, retreats, and our ever-popular monthly steak nights. While the houses have run their course for now, we invite you to stay tuned for opportunities to participate in future events very soon!
