The Avila College delegation had a wonderful time at the NEAA Student Conference at Iona Presentation College in Perth last week. https://www.avila.vic.edu.au/neaa-student-conference-in-perth/

Together with students from Presentation schools across Australia, our students explored the life and legacy of Nano Nagle and the Presentation Sisters, reflecting on what it means to be Carriers of the Lantern and how they can continue this legacy through faith, service, social justice and leadership.

Thank you to the wonderful team at Iona Presentation College for their generous hospitality and for creating such a meaningful and memorable conference experience.

And now, the lantern is being passed to Avila!

We’re thrilled to share that Avila College’s St Teresa Library has been recognised with a Master Builders Association of Victoria Excellence in Construction Award!

Constructed by Newpol Construction and designed by Law Architects we’re incredibly proud of this beautiful, future-focused space at the heart of our College.

The Blessing and Opening of the St Teresa Library was a beautiful community event. Located at the heart of the school, the library has become more than just a building but a hub for students to read, research, connect, collaborate and feel at home.

Congratulations to Larissa and Madeline (Class of 2025), who have been recognised with Premier's Awards for their outstanding achievements in VCE Art Creative Practice and VCE Agricultural and Horticultural Studies respectively.

We are incredibly proud to share that on Friday evening, Avila College Principal Dr Michelle Cotter was recognised by Catholic Secondary Principals Australia (CaSPA) for 15 years of Meritorious Service.

This prestigious honour celebrates Dr Cotter's deep commitment to Catholic education, exceptional leadership and dedicated service to students, staff and the wider school community.

We have recently received some wonderful donations to the Avila Archives from alumnae, including a vintage tennis racquet case, treasured memorabilia from Avila, Spain and photographs from the 1970's. Thank you! Our Heritage Collection is a significant and important showcase (and record) of the people, events and milestones that have shaped the Avila College community for more than 60 years.

If you have any photographs, uniforms, newsletters, awards or other Avila mementoes tucked away at home and would like to donate them to the archives please get in touch. We would love to share them with our current school community and preserve them for future generations.
