A big congratulations to our legends who graded today at the JVI Dan Gradings. Our guys were awesome! They worked really hard in preparation, and their performances today were absolutely fantastic. They truly earned their new black belts.

Tani achieved his NiDan.
Steve earned his long overdue and well-deserved ShoDan.
Alex proudly earned his ShoDan.

Special thanks to young Aiden, who stepped in as Alex’s crash test dummy. Although he wasn’t grading, he selflessly endured being thrown hundreds of times this week to help the others prepare!

We’re running a Women’s Intro to Judo program at Waverley Judo — perfect for complete beginners. Our nationally accredited coaches will guide you through the basics, including how to fall safely (a life skill everyone should know).

A huge thanks to all the magnificent members, family members and coaches of Waverley Judo Club for a brilliant year in 2025! Your commitment, passion and camaraderie have truly made our club feel like a second home. From hard-fought matches to shared laughs after training, it’s been a ripper of a year filled with memorable moments.

Our humble little club is going from strength to strength every year and we're planning for bigger and better things in 2026.

Congratulations to everyone who graded this year. All up, 40 people received new belts - a record for Waverley Judo. Your dedication and hard work have paid off, and you should all be chuffed with your achievements. These milestones are a testament to the teamwork and spirit that define our club.
