📚✨ What an incredible day at Les Powell School celebrating Book Week! Every class brought a book to life with interactive activities, animation, videos, sound effects, vibrant colours, and plenty of drama. It was truly a wonderful day filled with the joy of books and stories.

A huge thank you to all the staff for their dedication and hard work in preparing such engaging experiences for our students. We also appreciate the parents and carers who joined their children and made the day even more special.

We look forward to many more days celebrating the magic of reading. 📖🌟

⚽️ Soccer Gala Day Fun! ⚽️
Some of our senior students had an amazing day participating in the Soccer Gala Day hosted by George Bass School.

The students showed fantastic teamwork, sportsmanship and determination as they competed against students from other schools. It was wonderful to see everyone giving their best, encouraging one another and enjoying the opportunity to play in such a positive and inclusive environment.

A highlight of the day was spending time with George Bass School's support dog, who brought plenty of smiles, pats and calm moments for everyone involved!

A big thank you to George Bass School for organising such a well-run event and providing our students with a memorable day of sport, friendship and fun. We can't wait for the next one! ⚽🐾💙

Today, a group of our Les Powell School students attended an exciting dance workshop! 💃🕺 Everyone had a fabulous time learning new steps, exploring creative moves, and expressing themselves to music. 🌟 What an amazing day at Les Powell School's Athletics Carnival yesterday! 🌟

Although we couldn't use the Mount Pritchard East PS oval because of the wet ground, our students didn't miss a beat! They participated in a variety of fun physical activities including bowling, Boccia, soccer, balloon volleyball, fitness circuits, and parachute games. The energy and enthusiasm were truly inspiring!

A huge thank you to all the parents and family members who came along to support, join in the fun, and share a lovely picnic lunch with their children. Your involvement made the day even more special.

🛒 Yellow Team’s Learning Showcase 🛒

Today, our Yellow Team welcomed students from the younger classes to explore the fantastic Mini Woolies program led by our senior students! Visitors watched an introductory video, participated in sorting, money, and counting activities, and enjoyed shopping in our very own Mini Woolies store.

A big thank you to all the staff who made this possible and to the parents who attended to support our students. What an amazing program showcasing practical learning in action!

This was our final Learning Showcase for the term, and we’ve loved seeing all the wonderful learning across our school this week. Thank you to everyone who joined us in celebrating our students’ achievements! 🎉🛍️

🌟 Blue Team’s Learning Showcase 🌟

Today our Blue Team hosted an engaging learning showcase focused on shapes and patterns in our world! Students from across the school joined in exciting activities including making shape cookies, creating two-dimensional shapes with playdough, matching 3D shape bases to 2D shapes, building shapes, a shapes spinner game, and a shape Bee-Bot game.

Everyone had a fantastic time exploring and experimenting with 2D and 3D shapes. It was wonderful to see such creativity and collaboration!

A huge thank you to the families who joined us today to celebrate their children’s learning and achievements this term. We loved sharing this special event with you! 💙✨

Some of our wonderful students have been diving into the MiniLit Sage program, an evidence-based literacy program that provides explicit instruction in phonemic awareness and systematic synthetic phonics. With the dedicated support of our amazing SLSO, Vivienne, these learners are building essential reading skills that will set them up for success.

🌿 Green Team Learning Showcase 🌿

Today, students from all classes visited Green Team to engage in a fantastic sensory experience based on the beloved book 'We're Going on a Bear Hunt' by Michael Rosen and Helen Oxenbury. Green Team has engaged with this book throughout the term, and today’s event was a wonderful and joyful culmination of their hard work and creativity.

The showcase featured storytelling in costume, sensory activities that brought each environment on the bear hunt to life, a matching activity incorporating preposition vocabulary, and a fun weaving craft. To further enhance the experience, classrooms had been decorated to reflect the different environments from the bear hunt.

A huge thank you to all staff for creating such an enjoyable and immersive showcase for our students!

We are excited to continue the celebrations with Blue Team’s showcase on Wednesday and Yellow Team’s on Friday. Stay tuned!

Today, six students from our Yellow Team had an amazing time visiting the Lawrence Hargrave School Art Exhibition! 🎨 Each class showcased incredible artworks inspired by the artists they’ve studied, and our students had the chance to vote for their favourite pieces. To top off the visit, everyone enjoyed a tasty sausage sizzle before heading back to school. A big thank you to Lawrence Hargrave School for the wonderful experience—our students were truly inspired!
