🌿 PHPS GEM Chat: Mindfulness & Sensory Tracking 🌿

This week, Gigi and Meg asked some students to focus on Mindfulness and the power of using our senses to bring ourselves into the present moment.
By tuning into our senses, we can help quiet busy minds, become more aware of the present moment and create a sense of calm.

A simple reminder for us all: sometimes, taking a moment to stop, notice and breathe is all we need. 🧑

Thanks Gigi and Meg!

Today, we were lucky enough to have a visit and performance by the Killarney Heights High School band while they were on their 3 day tour of the Illawarra, visiting other local schools and the Wollongong Conservatorium of Music.

They were that good that some of our students couldn’t help but tap along and show some of their β€œsitting” dance moves. 🎸 🎺 🎻

Today our Kindergarten students celebrated 100 Days of School! What an incredible milestone as they marked 100 days of learning, growing and making wonderful memories together.

Thank you to our Big Buddies for helping to make the day extra special. Mr Swan and our school are so proud of everything our Kindergarten students have achieved in their first 100 days and can't wait to see what the rest of the year has in store!

On Friday we had some very special visitors from Keira High School! πŸ“šβœ¨

As part of Book Week celebrations, Year 12 students visited our school dressed as a wonderful range of book characters, bringing stories to life for our students. They spent time reading with our classes, sharing their favourite books and inspiring a love of reading.

Some of our students also had the opportunity to read to the Year 12 students, proudly showcasing their growing confidence and literacy skills. It was fantastic to see students of all ages connecting through the joy of books and storytelling.

A huge thank you to the Year 12 students and staff from Keira High School for making the visit so much fun. We loved having you here! πŸ“–πŸ’š
