Kagawa Trip: Celebrating 37 Years of Exchange πŸ›©πŸ›©

From 30 July to 9 August, Hobart College was delighted to welcome five students and two staff members from Kagawa, Japan, as part of our long-standing exchange program, now in its 37th year.

During their time in Tasmania, our guests participated in a range of classes including Art, Physical Education, Textiles, English and Cooking, while also enjoying visits to Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary, Waimea Heights Primary School and Richmond. Staying with Hobart College host families provided a wonderful opportunity for cultural exchange, friendship and connection.

Today, five Hobart College students and three staff members begin the return journey to Japan, where they will reunite with our Kagawa counterparts and experience an exciting itinerary that includes school visits, cultural experiences, sightseeing, a visit to Kagawa Bank, and, for the first time, a meeting with the Vice Governor of Kagawa. Highlights will also include making traditional udon noodles and a visit to Universal Studios Japan.

This special partnership continues to create lifelong memories, friendships and learning opportunities for students from both countries.

πŸ“Έ Keep an eye on our socials for updates and photos from the journey over the next 2 weeks!

NOTE: If you are interested in hosting a student and/or participating in a future visit to Japan, please feel free to get in touch. Please note that students studying Japanese are given first preference for participation in the program.

Got your fancy activewear packed? Great.

No fancy activewear? Also great.

Gold coin for the RSPCA? Fantastic.

Today is College Lap Day and the challenge is simple: make your way around the Ring Road during Home Group. So, pack your enthusiasm, a water bottle, and perhaps a sense of humour.

Remember to head to Home Group first.

See you on the Ring Road!
