"Last week, our Certificate II Animal Care students had the opportunity to welcome Dave Wright and Abby from Dogforce Australia for an engaging session on canine instinct and behaviour.

Students learned about dog body language, safe handling techniques, and how dogs have been selectively bred for different roles. Highlights included watching “Flea,” a retired English Springer Spaniel, demonstrate scent detection work, and meeting Arlo, a Belgian Malinois trained in bomb detection.

Dave and Abby also showcased positive reinforcement and clicker training techniques, giving students insight into professional working dog training. The session sparked lots of curiosity, with students asking thoughtful questions and sharing how inspiring they found the experience.

A big thank you to Dave and Abby for such an informative and memorable presentation — we look forward to welcoming them back again soon." 🫶🐕‍🦺

These koalas are in for a feast! 🍃🍴

Our amazing staff and students have planted 450 eucalyptus trees, which have now been harvested and sent as delicious feed to Symbio and Featherdale Wildlife Parks.

Our campus food forest will continue to serve as a hands-on learning project for TAFE students, while also providing a sustainable and ongoing food source for koalas. 🐨
