Mount Kilcoy State School

At the end of the fractions unit the year 5s from the 3/4/5 applied their knowledge to build a recipe into 2.5 X to make a bulk batch. We used the fancy kitchen, kitted out with utensils from fundraising by our Mount Kilcoy State School P&C team!

Buuuutt the recipe on the day we picked looked the same (same site, same topic) until half way through. Then some different ingredients turned up, so we had to adapt. Then we had to substitute entirely different ingredients and ratios. And we made it gluten free.

Kids = this was the BEST.

School = 🫠 - glad they had fun learning with a hands on experience!

Another amazing Science Fair, this time presented by the students across year 4-6! Thank you again to Kilcoy State High School for sending another two science specialist teachers out to judge our fair and to our students and families who put in the effort to make it happen. Congratulations to place getters and to Sunny who was our 2026 overall 4-6 Science Champion!

2026 P-3 Science Fair!
Thank you to all who entered, we’re looking forward to the 4-6 Science Fair continuation tomorrow! Congratulations to our high achievers per year level and Koa who was overarching P-3 Science Champion! Thanks to our school captains who distributed score sheets, ribbons and presented awards today.
