🖤💛❤️ National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children’s Day 🖤💛❤️
To honour Children’s Day, our MIDNK children and Miss Lee created something special - a nesting family project made from collected jar lids.
Each layer represents someone important: grandparents, parents, children and babies, all fitting together as one family.
And honestly… how powerful is that?
Just like the lids nest within each other, every generation carries stories, knowledge, culture and identity to the next. Our children reflected on who belongs in their family, who surrounds them with love, and the many beautiful ways a family can look.
Because children never stand alone.
They are held by family.
Guided by Elders.
Connected through culture.
Strengthened by community.
This simple idea became something incredibly meaningful, a reminder that every child deserves to feel safe, loved, heard and deeply proud of who they are and where they come from.
Happy Children’s Day to our strong, proud and powerful little ones, and to the families, Elders and community who stand beside them. 🖤💛❤️
