A Mount Isa dance school is expanding into a new custom space, after a surge in demand saw class numbers double ๐โจ
Co-owner Sally Prendergast said Dance Mount Isa had grown from 115 students last year to more than 200 in 2026, with over 100 people still waiting for a spot.
๐She said theyโre now preparing to move into a larger, purpose-built studio on West Street.
โItโs literally designed for danceโฆ a beautiful, big open spaceโฆ which means we can put in things like bars and mirrors.โ
But rapid growth hasnโt come without challenges, particularly when it comes to staffing.
โI guess one of the biggest ones for us has been finding teachers. That has been like the biggest challenge.โ
โWeโre always on the lookout for great teachers.โ
๐ ๏ธThe new space is expected to open in time for Term 2.
