A Mount Isa dance school is expanding into a new custom space, after a surge in demand saw class numbers double ๐Ÿ’ƒโœจ

Co-owner Sally Prendergast said Dance Mount Isa had grown from 115 students last year to more than 200 in 2026, with over 100 people still waiting for a spot.

๐Ÿ‘‰She said theyโ€™re now preparing to move into a larger, purpose-built studio on West Street.

โ€œItโ€™s literally designed for danceโ€ฆ a beautiful, big open spaceโ€ฆ which means we can put in things like bars and mirrors.โ€

But rapid growth hasnโ€™t come without challenges, particularly when it comes to staffing.

โ€œI guess one of the biggest ones for us has been finding teachers. That has been like the biggest challenge.โ€

โ€œWeโ€™re always on the lookout for great teachers.โ€
