✨ BIG NEWS FOR AUSSIE FAMILIES! Introducing the CCS '3 Day Guarantee' from January 2026! 🥳

Get ready a big change to Child Care Subsidy (CCS) that will make early learning more accessible and affordable for thousands of families!

From January 5, 2026, the strict Activity Test is being replaced with the new '3 Day Guarantee.' What does this mean for you?

✅ Guaranteed 3 Days of Care: All CCS-eligible families will automatically receive a minimum of 72 hours of subsidised care per fortnight for each child—the equivalent of three days a week! You no longer need to meet minimum work, study, or volunteer hours to access this support.

✅ A Huge Win for Flexibility: This removes the stress of tracking activity hours, giving stay-at-home parents, casual workers, and families with fluctuating schedules the certainty of consistent, affordable care.

✅ Enhanced Support for First Nations Families: Families caring for an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander child will automatically be entitled to 100 hours of subsidised care per fortnight.

💰 Potential Savings: This change could save some families thousands of dollars per year, making quality early education a reality for more children.

Why this matters: Consistent attendance in early learning is vital for your child's development and school readiness. This guarantee makes it easier to give your child the best possible start in life!

➡️ What to Do Now:

**If you already receive CCS, your entitlement will automatically increase if you were previously getting less than 72 hours.

**If you're considering enrolling, speak to Kinda Kapers about securing your days for 2026! We are currently enrolling now!

Recently the Owls have been learning about the meanings of the various colours of the traffic lights: red indicates that we should stop, and orange indicates that we should slow down. And red final indicates that we must stop. Seeing the children so engaged and sharing their thoughts about what each colour means during group time was really inspiring. After that, we went on to our tiny city, which was constructed with tape for the roads. There was parking at the very beginning, where the children started. We added a car mat so the kids could use their imagination to figure out which way to go on the roads. They would look for traffic lights and ask their friends, "Is it safe for me to go?" This activity was a great way for the kids to develop positive relationships with their friends while also using their language and literacy skills. and understanding the meaning of each traffic light's colour! Well done, Owls!

This week we had the pleasure of welcoming Bailey and his amazing Rock Pool incursion to the centre. He shared some amazing creatures and information with the Owls and Dingoes class, and the children had the opportunity to explore the plants and animals through hands on investigation. We learnt lots of amazing facts such as the fact that a starfish isn't really as fish and coral is an animal not a plant!

Today is Early Childhood Educators day for 2025!
Here at Kinda Kapers we feel very blessed to have such an amazing group of educators who are passionate and dedicated. Early Childhood Educators Day is our chance to say a great big thankyou for everything you do!

We would also like to say thankyou to the families for their beautiful words of thanks over the past weeks.

This national event recognises the invaluable role that early childhood educators play in shaping the lives of young children and supporting their families—laying the essential groundwork for children’s future learning, development and well-being.
It also highlights the widely acknowledged long-term benefits of early learning, recognised both within Australia and across the globe.
Most importantly, at the local level, Early Childhood Educators’ Day offers a wonderful opportunity for our community to express heartfelt gratitude and appreciation for the dedication and positive impact educators have on our children’s lives.
It’s our chance to personally thank Australia’s early childhood educators—through servic e operators, families, and children—and to collectively celebrate their vital contributions at both the state and national levels.

Recently the Bilbies and Sugar Gliders have been loving fully immersing themselves in painting activities. To further investigate this interest, we have been exploring different painting techniques and mediums. The children have thoroughly enjoyed creating some beautiful masterpieces and getting messy!
Exploring the world through art and sensory investigations is an important opportunity to gain a strengthened understanding of the world around them, how things feel, taste and smell. Creating their own artworks also helps the children feel proud of their achievements and a part of the Bilbies and Sugars community.

Over the past few weeks, we’ve been exploring the wonderful world of animals!

We began with pets, where the children engaged in meaningful discussions about the animals they have at home. From there, we moved on to farm animals, with many more exciting animal topics still to come!

The Brumbies have been enthusiastically participating in all the activities, challenging themselves through our school readiness program.

Additionally, the ELLA program has officially started in the Brumbies room for the year, and we’ve been thoroughly enjoying our introduction to Italian!

Welcome to the Sugar Gliders room, What a great start to the year the children have had getting back into the swing of things by learning the routine and meeting their new educators Laura and Shanice. The Sugar Gliders have started the year with high expectations by focusing on self-help skills and learning all about me. In the Sugar Gliders room, we will promote these self-help skills by teaching the children how to put their shoes and socks on and toilet training. Reggie, Isaac, Sophia and Lily have shown an emerging interest in painting so we have planned lots of activities that involve creative arts and learning ‘all about me’.
