🌻 National Science Week 2026 – Seeds of Science: Nurturing Knowledge for All 🌱
Our Year 2 & 3 scientists had an incredible day of rich, hands-on learning as we launched our National Science Week investigations!
The classroom was buzzing with curiosity as students explored estimation, discovered the fascinating life cycle of plants, planted seeds, and investigated what plants need to grow and thrive. They also rolled up their sleeves and got their hands dirty creating their very own seed bombs—a fun way to help spread native flowers and support our environment.
Over the coming weeks, students will continue their scientific inquiry by observing the growth of their sunflowers, investigating each stage of the plant life cycle, and identifying the different parts of a flowering plant. Several experiments will be coming home so students can continue making observations with their families. Many are already excited to begin their own Plant Growth Journal, recording predictions, observations, measurements, and discoveries as their plants grow.
The excitement doesn’t stop there! Next week, our Year 2 & 3 students will dive into the fascinating world of Forensic Science, where they’ll investigate clues, analyse evidence, and think like real scientists. It’s sure to be another unforgettable day of discovery!
