Our much-loved Father’s Day Stall is coming up on Wednesday 2 September!

Students will have the opportunity to purchase a special gift for their dad, grandfather, stepdad, carer, or another important person in their life. 🎁

It’s a wonderful chance for students to choose something special and celebrate the amazing people who support them every day. 💙

⚽🌭 What a fantastic afternoon of Soccer & Sausages at Father Fusion! 🌭⚽

A huge thank you to Mr Stone for helping make the day such a wonderful success, and a special thank you to Mr Smith for all his hard work assisting with the organisation of the event. We are so grateful for everything you both did behind the scenes to bring our school community together.

To all the dads, parents, carers and family members who kicked a ball, enjoyed a sausage, shared a laugh and joined in the fun, thank you! Your enthusiasm and support helped create a wonderful afternoon filled with smiles, connection and community spirit.

As we celebrate Speech Pathology Week 2026, we recognise the incredible role Speech-Language Pathologists play in supporting student learning, communication, wellbeing and inclusion. This year's theme, "Communication Creates Possibility," reminds us of the powerful impact communication has on helping students connect, learn and thrive.

At Mount Gravatt East State School, we would like to extend a very special thank you to our amazing Speech-Language Pathologist, Hannah Day. 💙 Her expertise, dedication and care help our students build confidence, develop important communication skills, and reach their full potential every day.

We are also proud to celebrate 60 years of Speech-Language Pathology in Queensland's Department of Education, recognising the valuable contribution SLPs have made to supporting students across our state.

This week, we celebrate the magic of stories, the joy of reading, and the power of imagination. Books open doors to new worlds, inspire creativity, and help us learn, grow, and connect with others. 🎨 Book Cover Competition Every student is invited to unleash their creativity by designing their very own book cover. All entries will be proudly displayed in the Library during Book Week, with prizes awarded for the best design in each year level. There are some fantastic book packs up for grabs, so start imagining and creating!

📢🚀 Year 2 & 3 Excursion to Area 51 🚀📢
Our Year 2 and 3 students are eagerly looking forward to their upcoming excursion to Area 51 this Tuesday! This exciting day will provide opportunities for fun, teamwork, and new experiences as students explore, play, and learn together outside the classroom.

💃✨ Dance Ministry Visits Our School! ✨🕺
We are excited to welcome Dance Ministry to our school, where they will be working with our Prep to Year 5 students in a fun and engaging dance experience!
Students will have the opportunity to learn new moves, express their creativity, build confidence, and enjoy the energy and excitement that dance brings.

🔥 Year 1 Fire Visit 🔥

On Wednesday, 1M enjoyed a Fire Education Visit from the firefighters at Wishart Fire Station. We learned about safe and unsafe fires. We were excited to watch as Firefighter Maro put on the special uniform and equipment needed by firefighters before they can enter a fire.

They taught us that we must: Get down low and go, go, go; Stop, Drop and Roll; and Get Out and Stay Out. We also learned that the letterbox is the place we should meet the firefighters.

Our class listened so well that we even got a turn using the fire hose! 🚒

A big thank you to the team at Wishart Fire Station for visiting us. We learned so much and had a wonderful time! 😊

⚽🌭 Father Fusion Soccer & Sausages! 🌭⚽
