Our artwork on display at the McDonald Park Primary School Art Show was inspired by our story table "The Rainbow Fish".

This was a child-led project, with children exploring what it means to be a good friend.

We are so proud of the children's thoughtful ideas and the beautiful artwork they created.

What a wonderful first week back at Gladigau Park Kindergarten!

Last week, the children were reconnecting with friends. They were problem-solving together—whether it was negotiating turns in the cubby house, creatively making butterfly wings or finding ways to include each other in play. Throughout the week, music was a big part of our environment, with children joyfully listening and dancing together, helping to strengthen friendships and build a sense of belonging.

We look forward to more learning and fun this week!

So important for our children. This fits with our Quality Improvement Program for 2026. Big movement through play supports development of fine motor skills.
What for what you child is doing?

It will be a very warm welcome back to Gladigau Park Kindy tomorrow.

Gladigau Park Kindergarten operates under the South Australian Department for Education extreme weather guidelines, which prioritise childrens safety during severe conditions. On days with extreme heat (generally 36 degrees or higher), rain, or storms, the Kindy may implement indoor play, utilise air conditioned spaces, and cancel outdoor activities to manage the risks like heat stress or injury.

Key aspects of extreme weather policy:

Hot weather: If the 7.30 am forecast or current temperature is high, air conditioners are activated, and outdoor play is restricted or moved to shaded areas.

Active supervision: Staff monitor children for heat stress and encourage regular hydration.
We will encourage refills of water bottles as often as required.

Indoor play: During storms, strong winds, or extreme heat, activities and breaks are held indoors.

Modifications: Outdoor activities are modified or moved indoors.

Clothing and protection: Children are encouraged to wear hats and sun safe clothing.

We will spend most of our day inside, however we will monitor the weather throughout the day.

Hi everyone,
Just a friendly reminder of the speed limits around Kindy.
Please be mindful while children are arriving and leaving Gladigau Park Kindy.

Stay alert and stay safe!

New 40 km/h time-based school speed zones are being applied to high traffic roads near school campuses to improve children’s safety.

The new speed limits apply on school days between 8:00am-9:30am and 2:00pm-4:00pm, along with the 25 km/h school zones that always apply when children are present.

Welcome back to Kindy 2026!

Our learning spaces are ready — we can’t wait to begin another year of learning and growing together!

Starting kindy is a big transition - and it’s totally normal for children and parents to feel nervous at drop-off! Here are some gentle strategies to help mornings feel calmer and more positive:

✨ Create a consistent routine
Kids feel safest when they know what to expect. A short ritual - a hug, a special handshake or a phrase like “See you this afternoon!” - can bring comfort and security every morning.

✨ Keep goodbyes brief & calm
Lingering can make it harder - a quick, loving goodbye helps your child settle more easily into their day.

✨ Talk about the fun ahead
Chat about what they might do - like playing with friends or creating something - so drop-off feels exciting, not scary.

✨ Acknowledge Big Feelings

If your child seems upset, let them know you see how they’re feeling - “I know it’s hard to say goodbye sometimes” - then reassure them that they’re safe and that you’ll be back.

✨ You’re not alone
Separation feelings are totally normal - and kindy educators are here to help your child settle in and feel confident.
