๐ŸŽจ๐Ÿก Student Success Spotlight: Chelsea's AIF Journey! ๐Ÿก๐ŸŽจ

Through her Year 11 AIF project, Chelsea has discovered a passion and pathway in Interior Design. Inspired by her mumโ€™s renovation ideas, Chelsea took on a real-life consultancy by working with a client to design an upgraded kitchen, creating style boards, and presenting both โ€œCountry Whiteโ€ and โ€œWalnutโ€ designs.

Chelseaโ€™s hands-on project has given her confidence and real-world skills, preparing her for future studies at Flinders University. She credits AIF with helping her follow her dreams and gain valuable experience in client communication, feedback, and design, reminding everyone that nothing worthwhile comes without effort.

Her advice to future students:
โ€œChoose a project you truly want to do, pushing yourself brings the best outcomes. Effort now sets you up for success later!โ€

Congratulations, Chelsea, for living our MGHS motto and inspiring others to dream big!

๐ŸŒŸ Happy SSO Week! ๐ŸŒŸ

This week, weโ€™re celebrating the incredible impact of our School Services Officers (SSOs) at MGHS! Our SSOs go above and beyond every single dayโ€”supporting students and staff, creating a positive school environment, and helping our site run smoothly.

While a message or a single week canโ€™t capture everything you do, we want to say a huge THANK YOU to each and every SSO. Your dedication, kindness, and effort make a real difference in our community.

Thank you for all you do!

๐ŸŒธ Honouring Our Vietnam Veterans ๐ŸŒธ

Yesterday, MGHS and Compton Primary School proudly laid a wreath at Vansittart Park to honour those who served in the Vietnam War. It was a privilege to join the memorial service, with History Teacher Graeme Roulstone representing our school community.

We particularly acknowledge local servicemen Anthony Casadio, David John Steen and John Rogers whose names are featured on the meorial site. Their courage and service are remembered by us all.

Lest we forget.

๐ŸŽถ๐Ÿ‰ Musical Magic in Adelaide! ๐Ÿ‰๐ŸŽถ

Towards the end of Term 2, our Year 9 Music students enjoyed an unforgettable excursion to the Adelaide Entertainment Centre, attending โ€œHow to Train Your Dragon โ€“ Live in Concertโ€ with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra! They watched the beloved film on the big screen while John Powellโ€™s iconic soundtrack was performed live, experiencing firsthand how music brings stories and emotions to life.

The experience was inspiring for our young musicians, offering valuable insight into orchestral performance, film composition, and the exciting career pathways in the music industry. It was fantastic to see students so engaged and enthusiastic, many returning home eager to develop their musical talents even further!

A huge thank you to the MGHS staff who made this opportunity possible.

๐Ÿ„โ€โ™‚๏ธ๐ŸŒŠ Surfโ€™s Up at Cape Bridgewater! ๐ŸŒŠ๐Ÿ„โ€โ™€๏ธ

In Week 8, our Year 12 Outdoor Education and Physical Education students braved the winter chill for an unforgettable surfing excursion at Cape Bridgewater! Not only did everyone manage to stand up on their boards (huge achievement!), but the day was made even more memorable by a surprise visit from a friendly local seal who joined in the fun with our group.

The focus wasnโ€™t just on riding waves, students also explored environmental conservation and reflected on their performance, building skills and knowledge in a real-world setting. The team spirit, perseverance, and positivity on display, especially in tough, cold conditions ๐Ÿฅถโ„๏ธ๐ŸงŠ was inspiring.

A special shoutout to Mr Peach for leading the way and showing off some impressive surf moves ๐Ÿ„โ€โ™‚๏ธ๐ŸŒŠ๐Ÿ’ช
