Respect. Resilience. Doing your best. Suttontown Primary School opened its present site in 1918.

Since that time it has developed from being the centre of the local community to its current situation where it is the closest small school to the rapidly approaching suburbs of Mount Gambier.

Dear Families,

As you may have seen the weather forecasts have updated to a very warm 45 degrees in Mount Gambier on Tuesday.

The South Australian Department for Education (DfE) hot weather policy focuses on keeping children safe, hydrated and cool, typically requiring indoor play or shaded, passive activities when temperatures reach or exceed 36 degrees.

Please read below for important information regarding Tuesday:

- Students will remain indoors at play times once the temperature exceeds 36 degrees, as this is expected by 10am it is more than likely all play breaks will be taken inside.

- Please pack additional cold water for your children. This will reduce the need for them to leave the air-conditioned spaces.

- Should you wish to keep your child home in the heat or pick them up early that is absolutely fine, please inform us and we will mark them as family on the roll.

Thank you families! We will do everything we can to keep children, cool, happy and safe! 😎
