The Independent Learning Centre (ILC) is a Department for Education initiative which offers a Flexible Learning Option (FLO) to eligible students.

The ILC focuses on providing flexible support to keep young people aged 16-21 years engaged in schooling or on a learning pathway. Each student has a self-paced Flexible Learning Plan and is provided with an individualised case management service to support and assist positive learning and well-being outcomes.

‘Expressions’ 🎨- Student Exhibition Opening -

‘Expressions’ is a collaborative showcase of student work from Artopia, Photography, Textiles and Crafty Corner. Across these areas, our students have explored a wonderful range of media, ideas and themes, resulting in an exhibition that is colourful, diverse and full of personality.

We are incredibly proud of the creativity, effort and individuality our students have shown throughout the year. ‘Expressions’ provides a wonderful opportunity to celebrate their achievements and share their work with our school community.
Thank you to everyone who came along to support our students and celebrate their creativity!

The exhibition is open to the public in the foyer of the Civic Centre until September 2.👩‍🎨🧑‍🎨

2026 Parent/Carer Tailored Learning Perception Survey

Dear Parent/Caregiver,

As a parent/carer of a student who is currently receiving Tailored Learning support, we would like to provide you with the opportunity to let us know your thoughts and feelings on how Tailored Learning is impacting your child.

We would also love to hear any recommendations that you feel would make positive changes to Tailored Learning support. Your feedback helps us understand what’s working well and where we can improve, so that every student receives the support they need to thrive.

This survey will only take a few minutes to complete, and your time is appreciated.

Thank you for being a valued part of your child’s learning journey.

Wonderful news! We are incredibly proud to celebrate the success of our talented ILC students, who took out the top honours in this year's inaugural NAIDOC Week Art Prize in Mount Gambier.

This year's theme, '50 Years Deadly - A Celebration of Country, Community, Culture,' inspired artists to create powerful works that honoured the richness, strength and resilience of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

From all the staff at the ILC, have a safe holiday break!

Term 3 begins on TUESDAY 21st July.

Support over the holidays:
Our wonderful case managers will be taking a break and will not be accessing their phones. If you need support, I will put some community numbers in the comments section, as well as an emergency number.
See you all in a couple of weeks ☺️

Thank you to David and Lachlan, from the MFS Road Awareness Program, for presenting to our students today. It was engaging, informative and a little bit confronting. Students who were present have vowed to be responsible road users both behind the wheel, as passengers and pedestrians.
