Last Thursday, our Year 11/12 Saints basketball teams headed to Wulanda Recreation & Convention Centre for a day of competition.
Both our teams enjoyed getting out on the court, with the girls securing a win against Grant High School and the boys taking a win against Millicent High School.
Pictured here are our boys in action in a close game against Naracoorte High School!

Last Thursday, our Year 8 students brought their Impact X learning to life as they stepped into the role of global change makers.
Working towards the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, students developed and presented innovative ideas designed to tackle some of the world's biggest challenges. They then took to the stage to pitch their ideas at our very own Summit of the Future, presenting with confidence and passion to their peers and a panel of judges.
Our students demonstrated that big ideas can start with young people who are willing to think differently and make a difference.

On Thursday we welcomed Danielle Tulak from Crater View Produce who taught Year 5C about how to prune fruit trees - of course demonstrating on our own trees. It was a fun, hands on experience for our students, learning about how to first trim any limbs that are dead, diseased or damaged, before looking at the shape of the tree.
Thank you Danielle for your time and expertise, and our Garden to Plate teacher Mrs Wilson for running this hands on program!

Weโre delighted to have received the complete collection of George the Farmer books, generously provided by Rabobank Australia.
St Martins Lutheran College was selected as one of the winners of the Rabo Community Fund 2026 George the Farmer Book Competition, from more than 170 education institutions across Australia.
The collection is now available at the library and will provide our students with engaging opportunities to explore farming, agriculture and rural life, while supporting literacy and learning.
A big thank you to Rabobank Australia for this generous contribution and for supporting opportunities that connect our students with the world around them. ๐พ

A little friendly competition was on the menu this week in Mrs Csillagโs Year 10 Spice Up Your Cooking classes. ๐ฉโ๐ณโจ
Students put their creativity to the test in a pavlova decorating competition, challenged to plate up the best pavlova design across three set judging criteria. With fruit, drizzle, powdered sugar and decorative flowers on hand, students created some seriously impressive and unique designs.
Two tough judges, Jenny and Mr Kutny, were brought in to put the creations to the test, carefully judging each pavlova against the criteria. With so many creative designs, it was certainly no easy decision!
Well done to all our Year 10 students for getting creative and putting their best pavlova forward.

Today, we welcomed our wonderful Grandfriends to St Martins for one of the most special days on our calendar!
The morning began with Worship before Grandfriends joined students in their classrooms for tours, activities, interviews and lots of special moments together. The morning finished with a lovely morning tea in the Gym.
It was beautiful to see connection shared between our students and their Grandfriends, as well as the way our St Martins community embraced those who didn't have a Grandfriend visiting.
Thank you to all of our Grandfriends for spending the morning with us. We loved having you here! ๐

Today, as part of Science Week, one of our Year 5 classes investigated seeds and how they travel.
Working in three groups, students followed instructions to create their own paper seed, designed to mimic the different ways seeds can move through the air. They then put their creations to the test, comparing which paper seeds could travel the furthest!
