🎨 Calling all MCSS artists!

To celebrate 150 years of Mount Cotton State School, we're inviting students to enter our 150 Year Colouring Competition!

We will have an under 8s and 8+ competition

🎉There are fantastic prizes to be won and selected entries will be displayed at our 150 Year County Fair celebration.

🖍️ Entry forms have been sent home with students, but if you need an extra copy, entry forms are attached to this post!

💙💚 VOLUNTEERS NEEDED 💚💙
P&C Father’s Day Stall – Tuesday 1 September 2026 🎁

Our much-loved Mount Cotton State School P&C Father’s Day Stall is coming up on Tuesday 1 September, and we need your help to make it a success!
We’re looking for volunteers to assist children with choosing the perfect gift and using their Flexischools card for payment. No experience needed – we’ll show you everything you need to know!

⏰Session Times:
• Set up from 7:30am
• 8:30am – 10:45am
• 11:10am – 1:10pm
• 1:30pm – 2:50pm
• Pack from from 3:50pm

Whether you can help for one session or stay for the whole day – we’d love to have you on board!

👵👴 Grandparents and community members are welcome too! A Blue Card is required for non-parent volunteers who would like to volunteer frequently, and applying is simple and free. Please contact the P&C if you need assistance with applying for your Blue Card.

Congratulations to Averie!! 🎨

Congratulations to Averie, the winner of our Mount Cotton State School P&C’s 150th Anniversary Poster Competition! 🎉

Averie’s creative design will be used to help promote our upcoming 150th Anniversary celebrations, and she was delighted to receive a voucher from our wonderful P & C as her prize.

A big thank you to our P&C for organising the competition, and congratulations again, Averie!

📢 Calling all local businesses and market stall holders!

As hopefully many of you will have seen, Mount Cotton State School will be celebrating 150 incredible years this October and applications are now open for market stalls and food vendors at our 150 Year Celebration & Country Fair.

✔ Thousands of local visitors expected
✔ Family-friendly community event
✔ Celebrate 150 years with us

Our celebration will run from 3-7pm on Friday 30 October and we are looking for a small number of stall holders. Spaces are limited and applications close Sunday 9 August. Successful businesses will be contacted directly to confirm details.

Preference will be given to local, handmade businesses with a connection to our school however others will be assessed on a case by case basis.
