Learning today was changing our water filters!💧

Water is life, we get our entire supply of water for our house from the sky. Rainwater from our rooftops are collected and stored in large water tanks. We then filter this water through a first flush diverter, then a 10 inch sediment and carbon filter. Nothing too high tech.

We change our filters every 6 months. You can notice how dirty the sediment filter gets. We could only change this and leave the carbon filter for another 6 months, but dad likes to change them all at the same time.

Recent Kirkwoodz Life Learning has been consisting of morning exercise, learning the best way to breathe while running, picking up local pollution on the side of the road, and sorting the pollution ready for rubbish, recycling and earn&return 🌱🌏

Happy Waitangi day!

The kids done some colouring in, dot to dot, word find, watched the Waitangi dawn service, and cooked some fried bread for Waitangi Day.

On this day the treaty was signed in Waitangi and will forever be a significant event for me and my family.

We will celebrate every year and never forget about what our ancestors stood for.
