🏆 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗪𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴 𝗪𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗿 📚

Congratulations to Sienna from Year 3, who was awarded First Place in the Year 2-3 Prose Category at the 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 (𝗦𝗔𝗘𝗧𝗔) 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗴 𝗪𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 for her original story, 𝘔𝘢𝘹 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘔𝘢𝘨𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘭 𝘔𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘴.

Adding to this achievement, her winning story has also been published in the 𝘚𝘈𝘌𝘛𝘈 𝘑𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘖𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘰𝘯 magazine, allowing her creativity and imagination to be shared with a wider audience.

👩‍🍳 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝘄𝗰𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝘂𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗘𝘅𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 🍽️

There was no shortage of impressive dishes in our Food and Hospitality kitchen as Year 12 students completed their second-to-last practical assessment.

Working within the theme of 𝘔𝘰𝘥𝘦𝘳𝘯 𝘈𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘢𝘯 𝘊𝘶𝘪𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘦, students created two-course meals accompanied by a range of handmade breads, pasta and ice cream. Their creativity, planning and growing culinary expertise were evident in every dish, highlighting the skills they have developed throughout the year 👏

Our Year 4 students embraced every moment of their three days at BaptistCare's Mylor Adventure Camp ⛺

From tackling the Giant Swing and Flying Fox to testing their skills in Archery, Raft Making and the Challenge Course, students stepped outside their comfort zones, worked together, and showed great resilience and perseverance along the way.

The muddy clothes that returned home were proof of a camp well spent, filled with adventure, teamwork, laughter and memories to treasure. We are incredibly proud of the courage, enthusiasm and positive attitude our students displayed throughout the experience 💚💛

🧪 𝗜𝘁'𝘀 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸 🔬

Inspired by this year's theme, 𝘚𝘦𝘦𝘥𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘚𝘤𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦: 𝘕𝘶𝘳𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘚𝘤𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘈𝘭𝘭, our students explored the wonders of science through hands-on experiments, investigations and demonstrations.

From examining seeds under microscopes and exploring magnets, vacuums and photosynthesis, to investigating nutrition and the science behind seed germination, students embraced a week of curiosity, discovery and learning.

📢 𝗔𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻 𝗲𝘅𝗰𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲 📢

We're planning a major new building development.

Designed as a double-storey building, the facility will feature a Food and Hospitality kitchen, two Science laboratories, a STEM focus room, general learning areas and collaborative, flexible breakout spaces.

These purpose-built learning spaces will elevate the educational experience for secondary students, support the continued delivery of a broad curriculum and cater for our growing community.

Construction begins October 2026, with completion expected in early 2028 (subject to approvals).

It’s been a fantastic fortnight for our 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝟳/𝟴 𝗕𝗼𝘆𝘀 𝗙𝗼𝗼𝘁𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗹 and 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝟵/𝟭𝟬 𝗕𝗼𝘆𝘀 𝗕𝗮𝘀𝗸𝗲𝘁𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗹 teams, with both progressing to Round 2 of their respective knockout competitions 🏉🏀

Our footballers went undefeated with three impressive wins against Unity College 5.9 (39) to 1.0 (6), Cornerstone College 10.2 (62) to 0.0 (0) and Eastern Fleurieu School 6.4 (40) to 2.2 (14). Meanwhile, our basketball team showed outstanding resilience and teamwork to secure victories against Scotch College (55-51) and Cardijn College (88-59).

We wish both teams every success as they continue their knockout campaigns later this term 👏

🌱 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲 🌱

Challenge, reflection and connection were at the heart of our Year 9 Rite Journey Camp.

Over four days at Illawonga Camp, students embraced a range of experiences, including kayaking, mountain biking, a cave tour, bushcraft activities, team challenges and their Solo Night experience.

As they stepped outside their comfort zones, students demonstrated resilience and perseverance while creating lasting memories with their peers.

Congratulations to our Year 9 students on reaching this significant milestone in their Rite Journey 👏✨
