Excited students and spectators watched on as high powered model race cars, fuelled by hydrogen energy, flew around a circuit set up at Gippsland Regional Indoor Sports Stadium last week.

The H2 Victorian Grand Prix, which took place on August 18, served as the culmination of months and years spent studying and engineering their projects, potentially booking a ticket for a world event.

Look around. Science is everywhere!

From the technology in your pocket to the food on your plate, the energy powering our homes and the natural world around us — science helps us understand how things work and how we can make them better.

And science doesn’t happen in isolation.

It brings together curiosity, creativity, technology, problem-solving and collaboration.

That’s exactly what we see when students step into the Tech School — asking questions, testing ideas, getting things wrong, trying again and discovering what’s possible.

Every question is a seed.
Every idea helps it grow.
Every learner has the potential to make a difference.

That’s what Seeds of Science – Nurturing knowledge for all is all about.

National Science Week 2026 is here!

This year’s theme is “Seeds of Science – Nurturing Knowledge for All” — celebrating the ideas, curiosity and discoveries that help science grow and create a better future for everyone.

At Gippsland Tech School, we love seeing students plant the seeds of curiosity, explore new ideas and turn questions into possibilities.

Leave us a comment with how you are celebrating this week.

Here’s to a week of curiosity, discovery, innovation and learning!

Happy National Principals' Day!

Today, we'd like to recognise and thank the incredible principals from all of our partner schools.
Your leadership, vision and commitment to your students make it possible for innovative learning opportunities to flourish. By embracing partnerships and creating opportunities beyond the classroom, you're helping young people explore STEM, build future-ready skills, and discover pathways they may never have imagined.
Thank you for your ongoing support of Gippsland Tech School and for believing in the power of collaboration. Together, we're inspiring the next generation of thinkers, creators and problem-solvers.

A special thank you also goes to our own "Principal", Director Paul Boys, whose passion, leadership and dedication continue to drive Gippsland Tech School forward. The countdown to the H2 Grand Prix Victorian Finals is well and truly underway!
Recently, we had our student teams onsite putting their hydrogen-powered cars through their paces. Every lap, adjustment and test run is helping them fine-tune their designs and build confidence ahead of race day.
It's inspiring to see the teamwork, problem-solving and determination these students bring to every session as they prepare to compete.

A huge thank you to our incredible sponsors and industry partners Martin Carlson Foundation, Aussie Broadband, ENGIE AU, EnergyAustralia, and Zenviron. Your support is helping provide students with hands-on STEM experiences that inspire the next generation of engineers, innovators and clean energy leaders. We couldn't do it without you!

We can't wait to see these teams hit the track on Tuesday 18 August at the Gippsland Regional Indoor Sports Stadium. We hope you join us!

Thank you to our partner schools Traralgon College, Lavalla Catholic College, Korumburra Secondary College , Mirboo North Secondary College - Official , Kurnai College FLO for their support.
