Our Koalas have been busy exploring a wooden lift-the-flap puzzle together! The children worked alongside their educators and friends to lift the flaps, discover the hidden pictures underneath, and match them to the correct places.

This engaging experience supported the development of fine motor skills, problem-solving, memory, and language as the children talked about what they found and encouraged one another throughout the activity. It was wonderful to see their curiosity, teamwork, and excitement as they explored and learned together.

Learning through play provides endless opportunities for children to build confidence, strengthen relationships, and develop important skills in a fun and meaningful way.

The Kangaroos Room, our children enjoyed sitting together at the table to share a delicious cake. 🍰💛

This special experience encouraged the children to practise taking turns, sharing with their friends, and enjoying conversations during mealtime. Sitting together also supports the development of positive social skills, table manners, and a sense of belonging within our classroom community.

It was wonderful to see the children smiling, chatting, and celebrating together while creating happy memories with their friends. 🦘💕

🧊🐧 Iceberg Hop Activity – Kangaroos Room 🐧🧊

This week in the Kangaroos Room, the children enjoyed a fun Iceberg Hop activity! The children hopped from one “iceberg” to another, using their balance, coordination and gross motor skills as they carefully made their way across.

This exciting experience also encouraged turn-taking, listening skills, problem-solving and confidence as the children navigated the course together. It was a fantastic way to combine active play with learning while having lots of fun!

Well done, Kangaroos! We loved seeing your enthusiasm and teamwork throughout the activity. 💙❄️

🚂 Working Together to Build a Train Track 🚂

The children in the kangaroos room worked together to design and build a train track for their trains to travel on. They shared ideas, solved problems and collaborated as they connected the different pieces to create a track that everyone could enjoy.

As the children tested their trains, they explored concepts such as cause and effect, spatial awareness and early engineering skills. They showed persistence when making changes to their track and celebrated their success as the trains travelled around the completed course.

This experience supported teamwork, communication, problem-solving and imaginative play while encouraging the children to learn through hands-on exploration.

🚆 It was wonderful to see the children working together, sharing resources and taking pride in their collaborative creation!

❄️ Winter Fun in the Kangaroos Room! ❄️

The children in the Kangaroos Room have been busy exploring all things winter! As part of our learning experiences, the children created beautiful snowflakes using icy pole sticks, blue paint and soft pom poms. 🌨️🎨

This hands-on activity encouraged creativity, fine motor development and sensory exploration while giving the children an opportunity to talk about winter weather and the different things we see during the colder months.

We loved watching each child design their own unique snowflake and proudly share their creations with their friends. What a wonderful way to celebrate our winter learning! 💙❄️✨

🎶 Music, Movement & Fun! 🎶

The children had a wonderful time exploring a variety of musical instruments! Through shaking, tapping, banging and listening, they discovered different sounds, rhythms and beats while expressing themselves creatively.

Music experiences support children’s language development, listening skills, coordination, confidence and social interactions as they play alongside their friends. It was wonderful to see so many smiling faces, enthusiastic participation and children experimenting with the different instruments in their own unique ways.

We can’t wait for more musical adventures! 🎵🥁🎼💛

The children engaged in a collaborative building experience using foam blocks, working together to create tall towers and different structures. The children carefully selected blocks, explored how to balance and stack them, and used trial and error to see what would help their towers stay standing.

Throughout the experience, the children communicated with each other, shared ideas, and worked as a team to achieve a shared goal. They showed patience and persistence as they rebuilt their towers when they fell and experimented with different sizes, shapes, and ways of stacking the blocks.

This experience supported the children’s fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, problem-solving abilities, spatial awareness, creativity, communication skills, and positive social interactions. It also encouraged confidence as the children saw their ideas come to life through collaborative play. 🌱🏗️✨
