Support Staff Appreciation Week for Mrs Kruger 💙

Our Speech Language Pathologist, Mrs Kruger, plays an incredibly important role in our school. Not only does she support staff through professional development and work closely with individual students, but she now also contributes to whole-school learning.

Each week, Mrs Kruger alternates between our P–2 and 3–6 classes, delivering engaging vocabulary lessons. Students learn base words, explore their meanings, and develop strategies to extend and apply this knowledge in their reading and writing.

Mrs Kruger is a valued asset to our school community and plays a vital role in supporting Morven’s vision for continual growth and next steps.

Happy Principal's Day to our amazing principal, Mrs Rolfe! 🌟

Today we'd like to say a big thank you for everything you do for our little school. From supporting our students and staff to juggling the countless behind-the-scenes jobs that keep Morven State School running smoothly, your hard work and dedication never go unnoticed.

We're so lucky to have you leading our school community with kindness, enthusiasm and a smile.

Jeans for Genes Day!

Yesterday, we were delighted to welcome the Hon. David Littleproud, Member for Maranoa, to Morven State School, where he spent time meeting with our Senior Class.

With Miss Matherson, our students prepared some thoughtful and insightful questions to ask Mr Littleproud, including:

💬 What is one rule or law you wish to make happen this year?
💬 What is involved in being a politician, and what does a day in your life look like?
💬 What should we do if we want to make a change in our local community?
💬 What do you think is the biggest problem our area faces right now?

Mr Littleproud thoroughly enjoyed speaking with the students and sharing an insight into his role and experiences as a politician. It was a wonderful opportunity for our students to connect their classroom learning with the world around them and learn more about how decisions are made in our community and beyond.

Happy Support Staff Week!

A huge shoutout to our amazing Mrs Bree, who keeps everything running smoothly behind the scenes. From making sure Mrs Rolfe doesn’t spend all the money in the wrong places, to organising notes, newsletters, timesheets and so much more, she truly does it all!

Her dedication, organisation and quiet hard work do not go unnoticed. We are so lucky to have you as part of our Morven State School team. Thank you for everything you do, Mrs Bree!

Our Prep students have been exploring the power of persuasive writing!

They used their creativity to convince why they want to visit Scotland! Well done Preps!

The Birdie Tree Project

Last Thursday, Birdie and Mr Frog came and taught students about different natural disasters. They found out how to cope and recover from stressful events.

Students then created their own nest artwork based on what they had learnt. Families also received a book each for reading at home.
