Next week our centre will be bursting with imagination, laughter and a Symphony of Stories as we celebrate CBCA Book Week 2026 – Book an Adventure! 🌟

From magical picture books and exciting adventures to songs, storytelling, dress-ups and creative play, our children will be exploring the wonderful world of books in so many fun ways. Every story has its own rhythm, every page sparks a new idea, and together we’re creating a beautiful symphony of learning and imagination. 🎻

We can’t wait to see our little learners dressed as their favourite book characters and sharing the stories they love most.

Dental Health Week! 🪥😁 Last week our toddlers focused on Dental Health Week with the story My Teeth. We explored why our teeth are important for eating, smiling, and speaking, and talked about the importance of brushing every day to keep them clean and healthy.
They engaged in several pretend tooth-cleaning activities, the children took turns using a large model mouth and some white board style pages along with a toothbrush to demonstrate brushing the front, back, and tops of the teeth and scrubbed them perfectly clean. It was wonderful to see them confidently remember and apply what they had learned about brushing and taking care of our teeth

"Can we do this one?"
When some children spotted our magnetic fishing game in the cupboard and excitedly asked to play this, we couldn't resist! A simple request quickly turned into a collaborative play experience as children worked together to create their own fishing habitat using loose parts, greenery, logs, ducks and material. Was it a pond, a river, or a swimming pool? The children all had different ideas, and we let their imaginations lead the way. They shared stories of feeding ducks, spotting crocodiles, and adventures with their families before taking turns catching colourful fish with the magnetic rods. 🎣

Our Senior Nursery room created a dinosaur world using large wooden blocks to encourage big movements that support gross motor development. Soft mats and cardboard tubes completed our dinosaur landscape, inspiring lots of imaginative play.
We finished with our favourite dinosaur song, stomping, crunching, munching, and chomping our way around the yard with our dinosaurs in hand 🦖

One of our all-time favourite songs is Five Little Ducks! 🦆 To extend the children's interest, we created a fun messy play experience using blue gloop as a "pond" with some little ducks. The children loved singing the song while moving the ducks through the gloop, bringing this much loved nursery rhyme to life!

Our toddlers had the best view of a construction site recently! They loved watching the concrete pump truck, cement mixer, and workers in action, while they waved as the vehicles went past.
We continued this interest by exploring trucks and diggers inside and reading construction themed books, making great connections between our play and the real world. It was a wonderful spontaneous learning experience! 🚧👷
