This morning, our Pre-Kindy children enjoyed a special buddy visit with the Senior Nursery children. Together, they explored the outdoor yard, climbed the fort, created sandpit birthday cakes, danced to K-pop music, played ball games, and chased bubbles. The older children showed kindness and leadership as they encouraged their younger buddies, teaching them through play, sharing ideas, and helping build their confidence. It was wonderful to see friendships grow and so much laughter and joy shared throughout the morning. πβ¨

π What an exciting day for our Pre-Kindy and Kindy children! π
Today we welcomed Sally and Jamie from Busways for a wonderful transport safety incursion/excursion. Sally taught the children all about staying safe around buses and how to travel safely when riding on one. The children listened carefully and loved learning these important safety messages.
We then hopped aboard the bus with Jamie and enjoyed a special ride to the local bus depot!. We discovered that all buses return to the depot to be refuelled and prepared for their next journeys.
The highlight of the day was definitely travelling through the giant bus wash!
The children were amazed watching the brushes and water clean the bus while we sat inside. A big thank you to Sally and Jamie for sharing their knowledge and giving our children such a fun, hands-on learning experience. We had an amazing time! ππ

πΏποΈ **Connecting with Culture Through Sand Writing** ποΈπΏ
The children participated in a meaningful cultural experience as they explored Indigenous symbols through sand writing in the sandpit. This hands on experience provided the children with a connection to earth and Country.
Using paint brushes, sticks and symbol cards for inspiration, the children created a variety of shapes, lines, and patterns in the sand. As they drew and experimented with different movements, they were encouraged to connect with the earth beneath them, experiencing a natural and hands-on way of learning.
Some children carefully recreated symbols from the cards, while others used their imaginations to design their own unique markings.
It was wonderful to see the children engaging with the natural environment, expressing themselves, and building a connection to Country through play and exploration. πβ¨

πFizzy Potions!π
Our Senior Nursery children enjoyed a fun and colourful science experience making fizzy potions!
We created a fun sensory science experience using bi-carb soda, food colouring, vinegar, and pipettes. The children excitedly selected their favourite colours before carefully using the pipettes to drop vinegar onto the powder, creating magical fizzing and bubbling reactions!
The children enthusiastically took turns experimenting, sharing, and talking about the coloured potions they created. This engaging hands-on activity supported colour recognition, fine motor skills, turn-taking, sensory exploration, and early scientific thinking through play.

πThe Very Hungry Caterpillarπ
Our toddler children have been very busy creating their own caterpillars inspired by The Very Hungry Caterpillar book. During group time the children enthusiastically counted the foods the caterpillar ate and identified objects throughout the story, supporting their early numeracy and language skills.
To extend this further we created our own colourful caterpillars using pop sticks, pom poms, googly eyes, glue, and paint brushes. They independently chose colours and materials, developing fine motor skills, creativity, hand-eye coordination, and decision-making skills along the way. Everyone was so proud to share their wonderful creations ππ¨
