🎶 Music Comes Alive at Morphett Vale East! 🎵

Yesterday, our students were treated to an engaging Musica Viva performance, where they experienced the excitement of live music performed by talented professional musicians! 🎻🥁🎤

Students enjoyed an interactive performance that encouraged them to listen, participate and discover how music can tell stories, express emotions and bring people together. It was wonderful to see so many smiling faces singing, clapping and joining in throughout the performance. 🌟

Experiences like these help foster creativity, confidence and an appreciation for the performing arts while supporting students' learning through meaningful, real-world experiences. 🎼✨

A big thank you to Musica Viva for visiting our school and inspiring our students through the power of music! 💙

🌟 Kindness Counts! 💙

At Morphett Vale East School, one of our core values is to Be Kind. As part of our Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) journey, we're excited to introduce our new Kindness Initiative!

From today, when a student is caught showing kindness to others, an educator will award them a Kindness Token. Students will place their token into their class bucket, recognising the positive choices they make each day.

Every Friday morning, a member of our leadership team will visit each classroom to draw a winning token. The lucky students will then be invited to enjoy a special Leadership Lunch later that day! 🍎🥪

We can't wait to celebrate the many acts of kindness that make our school such a caring and supportive place. Together, we're building a community where kindness is noticed, celebrated and inspires others.

We are delighted to announce that Camp Australia will be operating our OSHC and Vacation Care service from Term 4!

Camp Australia brings years of experience in delivering engaging, high-quality before school, after school and vacation care programs that support children to learn, play and thrive in a safe and welcoming environment.

Families can look forward to:

⚽ Engaging activities and experiences
🤝 Caring and qualified educators
🌱 A focus on children's wellbeing, creativity and development

To ensure you're ready for the transition, we encourage all families to register with Camp Australia now—even if you only think you might need care in the future. Being registered means you'll be able to access care quickly if your circumstances change or an unexpected need arises.

We look forward to this exciting new chapter and working together with Camp Australia to provide a fantastic OSHC experience for our school community.

🦗🌿 Meet Our New Class Pets! 🌿🦗

You may have heard about our newest classroom residents – 10 spiny leaf stick insects! Our students have thoroughly enjoyed learning about and caring for these fascinating creatures, which provide a valuable opportunity to explore life cycles, habitats and animal adaptations through hands-on learning.

We have also been carefully collecting their eggs and are eagerly hoping to welcome some hatchlings later in the year.

The students have certainly embraced their role as insect carers and have come up with some very creative names for their new pets, including Gary, Kung Fu Karen, Apex Karen, Regular Karen, Tim Tam, Stickina and Jerry, just to name a few!

We look forward to sharing updates on our stick insect family as our students continue their learning journey. 🌱🦗✨

🌟A Gem of Discovery! 💎🔍🌟

Our Year 1 students have been exploring the fascinating world of rocks and gemstones through hands-on learning and investigation! 💎✨

Using their observation skills, students looked closely at a variety of rocks and gemstones, noticing and comparing their colours, textures, shapes and patterns. 🔍🧠

It has been wonderful to see our young learners showing curiosity and enthusiasm as they explored what makes each rock and gemstone special. 🌏💬🔬

Through this learning, students engaged in Science Inquiry, developing their skills in observing, comparing and communicating their discoveries. 🧪✨

Who knew learning about rocks could be so much fun? 😊💎

There’s always something happening around the school during lunchtime! From sports and games to creative activities and quiet spaces with friends, our students have lots of opportunities to connect, be active and have fun during their break times. 🌟

Lunchtime activities help build friendships, teamwork, confidence and a positive school community while giving students a chance to explore their interests outside the classroom. 😊
