Our Celebration of Learning was a fantastic opportunity for our students to share their learning, classrooms and special activities with their families.

It was lovely to see so many families exploring the school, visiting our specialist learning areas and celebrating the achievements and learning of our students.

Thank you to our students for proudly sharing their learning and to our staff for creating such engaging experiences. We also loved seeing students collecting their special surprise after exploring all of the areas Music, Science, Japanese and the Library, including our Scholastic Book Fair and Little Learners display.

A wonderful afternoon of learning, connection and celebration at Calvary! Thank you to all our families for joining us.

It was our pleasure to host the Watoto Children’s Choir as they shared their inspiring Better Days performance with our students. Their uplifting music, powerful stories and joyful energy were a wonderful reminder of hope, resilience and the difference we can make in the lives of others.

Our students were thoroughly engaged and inspired by the experience, and we are grateful to the Watoto Children’s Choir for sharing their message with our Calvary community.

Our Book Week celebrations came to a close with Upper Primary Bedtime Stories, a visit from illustrator Denes Nagy and our much-loved Book Week Parade.

On Wednesday, students enjoyed an engaging illustration workshop with Denes, learning about his work and the process behind his creations before having the opportunity to create illustrations of their own.

Thursday was a beautiful sunny day for the parade, and we were delighted to see so many parents, carers, family members and friends joining us. There were plenty of costume highlights, including a human-sized Grug book, the Grinch, Stick MEN, our very own Fox in Socks, Sonic – and we’re still not sure if anyone managed to find Wally?!

A massive thank you to Mrs Becker for the very thorough organisation of Book Week, and to all our staff and students for embracing the many activities throughout the week.

Book Week 2026 at Calvary kicked off with a wonderful whole school performance, bringing stories and characters to life for our students.

Last night, our Junior Primary students enjoyed a special Bedtime Stories evening, coming to school in their pyjamas with their favourite teddies for a cosy night of stories. Tonight at 6pm is the Upper Primary Bedtime Stories.

Today, we are excited to welcome special guests from Noarlunga Library, who are reading books with our students.

And there’s still more to come! Tomorrow we are looking forward to an illustrator visit, followed by our much-anticipated Book Week Parade at 9.00am on Thursday.

It’s shaping up to be a wonderful week celebrating the joy of books, reading and imagination!

Our Year 5/6 girls represented Calvary at the SACSA Netball Carnival at Golden Grove. They showed great teamwork, sportsmanship and determination throughout the day, supporting one another both on and off the court.

Special thanks to Miss Shelton and Jeanette for supporting the team and also to the parents who made long the trek out to Golden Grove!

Well done, girls, on a fantastic day of netball! We are very proud of you all.

Our Year 5/6 Girls Netball Team has been hard at work preparing for the upcoming SACSA carnival.

Our staff members have been lending a hand at training, sharing their knowledge of the game by helping students understand court positions, teamwork, and game strategies. They have also been passing on plenty of helpful tips and tricks to build the students' confidence and skills on the court.

We celebrated the Commonwealth Games in style with a fun dress up day coordinated by our student leaders. Students proudly dressed in aussie colours or came dressed as their favourite sporting stars.

One of the highlights of the day was a lunchtime netball match between Calvary staff and the Year 6 students. The students gave it their all, but the staff team emerged victorious after a spirited and entertaining game!

Adding to the excitement was a surprise visit from the King and Queen, who presented gold and silver medals to participants, bringing a touch of royal flair to the celebrations.

Throughout the day, students also enjoyed a variety of games and sporting events.

We have enjoyed a very busy and exciting first week of Term 3 at Calvary.

This week, our School Captains led Chapel, exploring the value of being Compassionate. Chapel featured the acting debut of some staff and students through a series of pre-prepared videos, highlighting what compassion looks like in action!

Chapel was also a special opportunity to welcome our new students, who were presented with certificates.

We were also delighted to host the first session of our Little Learners, with children enthusiastically engaging in activities designed to support their transition to school. Families attended an information session to learn more about Little Learners and commencing at Calvary.

We look forward to an exciting term ahead as we continue learning, growing, being compassionate and flourishing together.

100 Days of School Celebration

Today we celebrated 100 Days of School for our Foundations that commenced at the start of 2026. The classes enjoyed a fun-filled day of learning, laughter and celebration as we recognised 100 days of growth and achievement.

Students came dressed as though they were 100 years old, with many creative costumes including grey hair, glasses, cardigans, braces, walking sticks and walking frames. The teachers and support staff were dressed as students!

Throughout the day, students participated in a range of engaging activities designed to celebrate their first 100 days of learning.
