It was wonderful to see everyone focused, engaged and giving their writing a go. Our students are developing their literacy skills, building confidence and celebrating their individual progress along the way. 🌟

🥕🌱 Carrot chaos in the veggie garden! 😂

Room 8 have been busy getting their hands dirty today, digging, pulling and harvesting the carrots in our vegetable garden! 🧑‍🌾🥕

There were some impressive carrots, some very interesting shapes, and proud faces. 😂🙌

Nothing beats growing your own veggies and enjoying the rewards of a little hard work.

What a book week adventure we had!
Our students and staff got right into the spirit of book week, and WOW….what a fantastic collection of costumes!
There were superheroes, storybook characters, colourful creations and plenty of very creative interpretations of our favourite books. It was wonderful to see everyone getting involved and sharing so many smiles and laughs along the way.
Our classrooms looked amazing, our students looked fantastic, and our staff certainly proved they know how to have a bit of fun too!
A huge thank you to everyone who dressed up, decorated rooms, joined in the activities and helped make the day so special. 🎉
Books, costumes, music, dancing and lots of happy faces - what more could you ask for?

We are so excited to celebrate Book Week Day at Mornington SDS tomorrow! 🎉📖

We can’t wait to see all the wonderful costumes our students and staff have put together — it’s always such a special day seeing everyone get into the Book Week spirit! 🌟

Our classrooms have been doing an amazing job decorating their rooms and preparing some fantastic Book Week activities for our students to enjoy. 📚🎨🖍️

And of course, there will be music, dancing and lots of fun for everyone to enjoy! 🎶💃🕺

🏀⭐ What a game for our Mornington SDS All Stars! ⭐🏀

Our Mornington SDS All Stars basketball team had a fantastic game today, coming away with a well-deserved WIN! 🎉👏

The team put in the hard work before heading off to Casey Stadium, practising and completing their warm-ups on our very own basketball court at school. 🏀💪

We are so proud of the way our students worked together, showed determination and gave it their all on the court!

🐴✨ Carriage Rides at Mornington Special Developmental School ✨🐴

This year, we were excited to introduce a wonderful new program for our students — carriage rides at Mornington Racecourse! 🐎

This program provides a fantastic opportunity for students who may not have the ability, confidence or desire to get on a horse, but are very happy to experience the joy of being in a carriage alongside these beautiful animals. ❤️

For some of our students, this is a new and exciting experience; for others, it provides a wonderful sense of calm, connection and enjoyment. There is something very special about being outdoors, hearing the sound of the horses and enjoying a ride around the racecourse. 🌿🐴

🌟 A very special part of this program is that it is run by dedicated volunteers, who generously give their time, experience and enthusiasm to provide this opportunity for our students. We are incredibly grateful for their support and the wonderful experiences they help create.

And of course, our wonderful staff are there every step of the way, supporting and accompanying our students and helping them get the most out of this special experience. 💙

We love seeing the smiles, excitement and sense of achievement our students experience each time they climb into the carriage. It is another wonderful example of creating inclusive opportunities where every student can participate in a way that works for them. 🌟

A huge thank you to our amazing volunteers and staff for making this program possible! 🐴❤️
