Happy Kings Birthday everyone!
Today we celebrating a well deserved public holiday. We hope you all have a great day and long live the king.

Our 4yr Seahorse group explored Cranbourne Gardens using all five senses. They touched plants to release scents, including one that smelled like mint toothpaste and another like lemonade.

Guide, Bridget, taught us about trees’ benefits, and the children hugged trees in thanks. They made ochre handprints on rocks and tasted lemon Myrtle tea, with mixed reactions. We listened to bell birds and heard water gurgling inside a Queensland bottle tree.

Thanks to all staff and parent helpers for making this day possible. Well done, Seahorse children, for your curiosity and sense of adventure!

We will be celebrating with our 4 Year Old groups by participating in the "You and Me Murrawee" program at the Cranbourne Royal Botanic Gardens during National Reconciliation Week. Led by a Royal Botanic Garden Early Childhood facilitator, the program takes the groups on a journey around the Australian Gardens inspired by the story by Kerri Hashmi "You and Me Murawee". Our aim in participating in this program is to give the children a greater understanding and respect for the Aboriginal culture of the local people of the Kulin Nation.

As National Reconciliation Week (27 May to 3 June) approaches we will be sharing local events so that "Now more than ever" we can join in, support, celebrate, and hear the voices of Aboriginal and Torres Strait islanders across this continent.

Did you know that our staff, committee, and community at Leslie Moorhead Pre-School are continuing on our journey of creating an authentic Reconciliation Action Plan using the fundamental values of respect, relationships, and opportunities, which enables us to take meaningful actions in advancing reconciliation sustainably and strategically.
