Pianist Wanted – Mornington Peninsula / Melbourne

We’re looking for a pianist to join an established acoustic band playing a mix of jazz, bossa nova, folk, classical crossover and original music.

You’ll need:
• Solid musicianship
• Good ears and tasteful playing
• A collaborative spirit
• Commitment to weekly rehearsals
• A hunger to perform and grow the project
• Willingness to help promote gigs and opportunities
• Happy to do the odd open mic along the way

Most important — we want someone friendly, grounded and easy to be around. No ego, no jazz police, no one sucking the joy out of the room with a lecture about altered dominants.

We love the rehearsal process as much as the gigs themselves — shaping arrangements, trying ideas, stretching songs in new directions and building something with care.

The music draws from jazz, Brazilian music, folk traditions, improvisation and original songs with heart.

🎶 IMPORTANT OUTDOOR EVENT UPDATE – STREET ENTERTAINMENT CANCELLED - VENUE MUSIC IS PROCEEDING🎶

We have made the very difficult decision to cancel the entire outdoor Mornington Winter Music Festival due to weather forecasts across the weekend.

This is not a decision we’ve made lightly. While we’ve pushed through with light rain in the past, the forecasted high winds, heavy rain, and potential hail mean it’s simply not safe for our musicians, entertainers or community.

With so many moving parts involved – including traffic management, equipment hire, performer logistics, and safety considerations – we’ve had to make an early call to cancel the event.

🚧 Please note: the planned road closure for Sunday will NOT be going ahead so Main Street will remain open to traffic.

☔️ Indoor venue music will still continue as planned.

We’ve been extremely fortunate over the past 10 years to enjoy great weather for this festival, and we sincerely thank all performers, venues, and visitors for your understanding.
