Beylor Blacks, Black and Coloured Sheep Stud

It's great seeing our fleeces in their final forms. This one is a bit extra special. Steph prepared and spun up some of our Merino wool, and the lovely Alicia from Dear Bunny, knitted up a gorgeous beanie and booties set for a family members new baby ❤️

Last year we had the privilege of using two stud Corriedale rams from Montone Corriedale stud. One of their homebred rams and another from Croydon Corriedales.

We joined three coloured ewes to each of these rams and have been very impressed with the results, retaining the four ewe lambs and a ram lamb, 2509 "Charlie".

Charlie was one of those lambs that hit the ground and you know is sire quality. He displays all the key Corriedale traits we value, backed up by his beautiful fleece.

Charlie is heterozygous, which means he is white but carries the coloured gene. His dam is Violet, a stunning young Corriedale ewe and a Murdoch daughter. We're looking forward to seeing the impact this young ram will have on our flock in the future.

You might remember 2517 'Wombat' as a lamb.

We have loved his presence since he was born, he is growing well and shaping up to be our new sire, taking us in a slightly different direction.

Being almost pure Merino, he’ll help us refine things after we started to get a little stronger in the wool, bringing it back to a finer, softer quality.

Wombat also carries the Moorit brown gene, so we’re especially excited to see what he produces when matched with the right ewes. Big things ahead for this young ram!

Fleeces are available for pickup from Clyde by arrangement, or can be posted at the buyer’s expense.

All sheep are uncoated, so fleeces may contain some vegetable matter. However, great care is taken during skirting to ensure each fleece is as clean as possible.

Please note that colours may vary slightly between photos and the actual fleece, though we do our best to represent them accurately.
