🌱♻️ Sustainability in our Starfish Room ♻️🌱

Our Starfish have been exploring sustainability through the simple but powerful ideas of REDUCE, REUSE & RECYCLE! 🌏💚

Instead of throwing everyday items away, we’ve been giving them a new purpose and discovering how recycled and repurposed materials can become wonderful opportunities for play, creativity and learning. 📦🧻🎨

Through these experiences, our toddlers are beginning to understand that we can make a difference by using what we already have, reducing waste and finding new ways to reuse materials.

It’s amazing to see how something that might normally go into the recycling bin can become the beginning of a whole new adventure! 🌿💫

🎂 Happy Birthday Playdough Fun! 🎂

Our Starfish children enjoyed a wonderful playdough experience, exploring cupcake liners, patty pans, rolling pins, recycled “sprinkles”, and candles as they created their very own birthday cakes. They carefully rolled, pinched, flattened, and moulded the playdough, using their imaginations to decorate colourful cakes before placing candles on top.

The fun continued as the children gathered together to sing “Happy Birthday,” celebrating each other’s creations through imaginative play. This engaging experience supported fine motor development by strengthening the small muscles in their hands, while also encouraging creativity, language, social interaction, turn-taking, and cooperative play. Through pretend play, the children explored familiar life experiences, shared ideas with friends, and celebrated together in a joyful and meaningful way.

I wonder what the children will decide to make with all of our freshly grown potatoes this week! Will it be mashed potato? Jacket Potatoes? Or maybe some crispy fresh fries! 🤤
