Aprons on! 🔥 Café Kick Start is coming to CCNI’s Inverell campus.

There’s only so much you can learn sitting in a classroom. But with our new hands-on Foundation Skills program, you’ll start by creating simple dishes, build skills for work as the menu grows, then bring it all together in a final food service!

And according to CCNI hospitality trainer Brodie Smith, you don’t need to arrive knowing your way around a kitchen. “Just do it! It can all be taught.”

From first dish to final service, click below to see what’s cooking at CCNI.

The course is fully funded for eligible students under the Ensuring Access to Foundation Skills Training program.

Ensuring Access to Foundation Skills Training is a joint initiative between the Australian and New South Wales governments.

🎧 Tahnee’s story reaches SBS NITV Radio

We’re incredibly proud to hear CCNI learner and Adult Learners Week Ambassador Tahnee Capon sharing her story with SBS NITV Radio.

Speaking with producer Bertrand Tungandame, Tahnee talks about her learning journey, the challenges she’s overcome, and how returning to study helped give her direction, confidence and purpose.

SBS NITV Radio brings a national focus to news, events and issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities — making this a wonderful opportunity for Tahnee to share her story beyond our region.

From CCNI’s Inverell campus to listeners across Australia, Tahnee continues to show just where learning can lead.

National Skills Week begins today, and this year’s theme couldn’t be more fitting: Life Changing.

Throughout the week, we’ll be celebrating students from across our region whose stories show how vocational education and training can change direction, create opportunity and open doors at every stage of life.

From taking the first steps towards a career to returning to learning or choosing an entirely new direction later in life, there is no single pathway – or age – for learning new skills.

CCNI celebrates National Skills Week 2026 and the life-changing impact of vocational education, with pathways and opportunities for learners of all ages.

A top 20 finish and a well-earned coffee break!

CCNI Inverell has been named one of the Top 20 finalists nationally in the Winc Australia and Nescafé 'Brew Your Dream Breakroom' competition with Nestlé Professional.

Our prize has now arrived, with Senior Campus Coordinator Tania Archer taking delivery of a 'Take a Break' hamper for the campus.

"We’re looking forward to sharing plenty of coffee break moments with our learners and staff—and putting our prize to good use!" ☕

Congratulations to the lucky winner, Collymongle Ginning, and thank you to Winc Australia and Nescafé for recognising the importance of creating welcoming spaces where people can connect, recharge and enjoy a well-earned break.
