🏃 Building Skills Through Sport! 🌟

There’s plenty of fun to be had while learning at BLC!

Participating in sporting games and activities, like a good old-fashioned hessian sack race, gives our students the opportunity to develop fundamental movement skills, coordination and balance, while also building resilience and learning to keep going when things don’t quite go to plan.

Most importantly, they’re having fun, laughing together and giving everything a go! 🙌

🥊 One of our Term 3 highlights has definitely been boxing at Chalky’s!

Our students have loved getting into the gym, developing their boxing skills, building fitness and confidence, and challenging themselves each week.

A huge thank you to Chalky for the time, energy and commitment he has given to our students throughout the term. The relationships he has built and the encouragement and support he provides have made these sessions something our students genuinely look forward to.

We’re incredibly grateful to have people like Chalky in our community supporting our young people. 🥊💪

🐾 Learning on the Job! 🐾

One of our students has been gaining some fantastic hands-on experience through work experience at the local vet.

It’s been a great opportunity to learn more about caring for animals, experience a real workplace environment and build confidence, responsibility and practical skills along the way.

We’re very proud to see our students getting involved in opportunities like this and having a go! 👏🐶🐱

🐴 Learning through connection 🌿

Our students are really enjoying their Horse Led Learning sessions and have loved developing their horse riding skills each week! 🐎

Along the way, they’re building confidence, communication and trust while learning how to safely interact with, care for and ride the horses.

These hands-on experiences provide wonderful opportunities to develop self-awareness, patience, resilience and positive relationships — all while having plenty of fun learning outside the classroom! Thanks Kerrianne for this wonderful oppurtunity💚

🌱 From Little Things, Big Things Grow 🌱

Students at Barwon Learning Centre have been working hard to bring new life to our garden! 🌸 They’ve rejuvenated the garden beds, learned about root systems, and taken on the responsibility of caring for new plants.

A huge thank you to the wonderful team at Fork and Spade Nursery Moree for sharing your expertise and guiding students with knowledge and support. Together, we’re creating a beautiful space where our students can grow and learn. 🌱💚
