🌟 Term 4 has kicked off with energy and inspiration at Barwon Learning Centre! 🌟
We’ve dived into some incredible experiences, starting with dynamic Skate workshops led by the Songline Skateboarding team! Through mentoring and skill-building, our students developed resilience and tackled new challenges, from building their own skateboards to mastering moves in 'learn to skate' workshops. Together, we explored creativity through screen printing, skateboard design, and shared powerful stories in yarning circles. We’re thrilled to see some natural talent shine as students jumped on skateboards for the first time with confidence and finesse!
As part of our healing and cultural learning, BLC students also spent a beautiful day at Goondiwindi Botanic Gardens, guided by Aunt Bernadette Duncan. From sipping Eurah tea to identifying the different types of Eurah bush across Gamilaroi Country, students engaged deeply. In the Gadji Gadji garden, they learned about the healing and nutritional uses of native plants and trees, with bush berries quickly becoming a favorite!
We’re so grateful to Songline Skateboarding and Aunt Bernadette for sharing their knowledge and passion with us. Looking forward to more on-Country learning and connection throughout Term 4! 🖤💛❤️
