“Most people do not listen with the intent to understand;
they listen with the intent to reply.”
— Stephen R. Covey
A gentle reminder to myself: especially in times of division, real connection begins with listening — with understanding and empathy — even when it’s difficult.
I took this photo in Thailand last year.
A single pot standing beside a wall felt like a quiet metaphor: reflection, stillness, humility, and the space to listen. It doesn’t shout. It invites.
To me, it represents self-reflection, boundaries and differences, and the importance of holding space for growth. A moment of calm in a noisy, reactive world — a pause to listen before responding.
