Happy Father’s Day to all the amazing dads, carers, stepdads, grandfathers, uncles, and father figures in our school community.

Whether you are doing the morning drop-offs, volunteering at school events, or helping with homework, your support makes our school a better place to learn and grow.

Our special Father’s Day Breakfast brought students and their special guests together for a morning of connection and laughter through interactive activities. A massive thank you to all the father figures who joined us and made the event so memorable.

STRIVE // Dr. Katie Moon recently hosted Lucy, Lexi and Georgie at the University of Melbourne TIGRR Lab for a Girls In STEM Mentoring visit.

The students stepped into the world of de-extinction science, exploring ground-breaking research to bring back the Thylacine (Tasmanian Tiger).

During an action-packed day, they extracted DNA from a fat-tailed dunnart, observed histology block preparations, and even went head-to-head in a "Lab Olympics" using micropipettes and centrifuges.

Leading ecologist Dr. Emily Scicluna also joined the team, sharing insights into carnivorous marsupials, career pathways and citizen science.

We’re privileged to be able to partner with ASRC Foodbank each year for our Winter Food Drive. Thank you to everyone who supported this year’s collection.

For three years, the incredible students of Parkdale Secondary College have stood alongside refugees and people seeking asylum. 💜

With the support of their dedicated teachers and mentors, students have organised food drives, collected essential items and raised awareness about the work of the ASRC within their school community.

A heartfelt thank you to every student and mentor who has contributed over the years. Your ongoing commitment is a wonderful example of what young people can achieve when they come together with compassion and purpose.

We are so grateful to have Parkdale Secondary College as part of the ASRC Foodbank community. 💜

ACHIEVE // We are incredibly proud to celebrate a massive milestone for Year 11 student Will, who is releasing his debut single “Shining Star” on all streaming platforms this Sunday August 30th.

Those of us at the whole school assembly this term were lucky enough to get an exclusive early listen, and the track is absolutely brilliant.

COMMUNITY // Our very own Ms. Chiocci is lacing up the boots tonight for the Legends Game at Marvel Stadium.

From being Collingwood’s inaugural AFLW captain, a 2017 Victoria State of Origin player, a 3x All-Australian and 55-game veteran, she’s a legend on and off the field.

ACHIEVE // Last Thursday’s Science Fair was a spectacular celebration of discovery and creativity.

Upstairs, everyone was treated to demonstrations from Twisted Science and presentations from Dr. Katie Moon, who shared the latest insights into the Tassie Tiger De-extinction project.

Downstairs, we had 150 incredible entries featuring a mix of experiments, dioramas, photography, and art. Congratulations to all of our brilliant award winners!

Our Science Captain Mackenzie, alongside Laura and Georgia, provided our local member, , with a tour of the exhibits.

Special thanks to our organising committee and our dedicated science staff. Their phenomenal effort made this year's Science Fair bigger and better than ever before.
