📚✨ What better way to explore some of our favourite storybooks than through thoughtfully created sensory trays!

Bringing stories to life through hands-on experiences allows children to explore familiar characters, settings and ideas in a whole new way. Through touching, creating, imagining and retelling, the children are building their language, creativity and love of literacy - all while having lots of sensory fun! 💛📖

National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children's Day ❤️💛🖤

This past Monday, we proudly acknowledged *National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children's Day* through a meaningful learning experience inspired by the Deadly Kindy cards.

The children carefully observed natural materials before using their creativity to decorate rocks with a variety of colours, patterns and designs. This hands-on experience encouraged creativity, supported fine motor development, and fostered a connection with the natural environment while providing an opportunity to celebrate and appreciate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures.

At Carmichael Kids, we are committed to creating opportunities for children to learn about and celebrate the rich histories, cultures and contributions of Australia's First Nations Peoples through respectful and engaging experiences.

🦕🫧 Dinosaur Day Spa! 🫧🦖

Even dinosaurs need a little TLC! Our little possum friends took great care of their dinosaurs, making sure they had a nice wash and plenty of gentle care. 💕🧽

Through this sweet moment of play, we saw nurturing, empathy and imagination come to life - because apparently even the biggest dinosaurs need someone to look after them! 🦕💚

This week our children are exploring the inspiring Bible story of Daniel and the Lions' Den. 🦁📖

Through storytelling, discussions, and hands-on learning experiences, the children discovered how Daniel trusted God, even when faced with difficult challenges. This meaningful story encouraged conversations about faith, courage, trust, and standing up for what is right.

It was wonderful to see the children's curiosity and engagement as they reflected on Daniel's bravery and God's protection. ❤️

Nothing quite beats sandpit play 🌞 our children have been busy digging, scooping, pouring, building, and creating in the sandpit. Through these hands-on experiences, they are developing important skills including problem-solving, creativity, fine and gross motor coordination, teamwork, and communication.

Whether they are constructing castles, making roads, or simply enjoying the sensory experience of sand between their fingers, every moment is filled with opportunities for learning, exploration, and fun.

We love watching our little learners use their imaginations and work together to bring their ideas to life! 💛

This week, we are proud to recognise and celebrate NAIDOC Week as we learn about and honour the rich cultures, histories, and contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Through meaningful experiences, stories, art, music, and discussions, our children are exploring the importance of connection to Country, community, and culture while developing respect and understanding for Australia's First Nations peoples.

As a Christian service, we are guided by values of love, respect, compassion, and stewardship. We recognise the importance of celebrating the unique gifts, wisdom, and traditions that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have shared for generations, and we are grateful for the opportunity to learn together.
