It was a great day out for the Senior Brass Band and the Rock Band at the Perenjori Show last Saturday. Thanks to Kirsten, Helen, Henning & Belinda for organising and accompanying the students. A couple of key solo players were unable to attend due to illness but the rest of the students stepped up and performed with confidence. Fabulous work everyone! 😀

The Morawa DHS Senior Brass Band have returned safely from their camp and performance at the WABA State Band Championships in Perth over the long weekend, 30 May - 1 June, and the bus didn't break down this time!!
Congratulations to all the 16 students for their outstanding performance on the day. You all sounded amazing and the hours of work at rehearsals paid off. Fantastic results, not only did the band win their Junior Band grade, but they also took out the highest score for the Own Choice Test Piece category across all grades. 😍
Lots of fun activities too, Lazertag and 10-pin bowling. Unfortunately the Zoo was closed due to the severe weather, but the impromptu shopping trip to Garden City instead more than made up for it! A visit to the Margaret River Chocolate Factory in the Swan Valley and lunch at the Bindoon Bakehaus on the way home rounded off an excellent weekend.
A huge thankyou to our staff and parent supervisors who accompanied Helen and the kids; Henning and Belinda, and special thanks to Dean for driving the bus and getting us to each destination safely and on time, despite the weather.

Thankyou to all the Senior Band members, plus Sophie and Kirsten for the Anzac Day performances at Perenjori and Morawa this morning. It was quite an early start, so special thanks to parents for getting their children ready on time. Well done to Blake for the Last Post at both venues. Thanks also to Nicola for accompanying the students and Helen for the excursion and for being chief photographer. The communities at PJ & MO are always so appreciative of the band's efforts for this special occasion each year. 🌺

A reminder that the 2026 Anzac Day service is on at Morawa and Perenjori War Memorials this Saturday 25th April. The PJ service starts at 8.30am and the Morawa service at 10.45am.
Students from the Morawa DHS Brass Band will be providing the music for both these services, and they are wonderful ambassadors for our school and local communities. Lest We Forget.

The final Senior Band rehearsal for Term 1 included marching practice for Anzac Day. It was also pyjama day at school. Don't worry, they'll be more formally dressed on the actual day!
