❄️Trading textbooks for the slopes!
Our Year 11 & 12 Outdoor and Environmental Studies students headed to Mount Buller for their three-day Sustainability Snow Camp.

Bringing their VCE Unit 4 studies into the real world, students stepped directly into the alpine environment to:

Hit the snow: Practising skiing, snowshoeing, and minimal-impact outdoor ethics.

Investigate sustainability: Analysing how Mt Buller manages waste, water, and energy in a high-tourism setting.

Explore conservation: Evaluating real-world strategies used to protect fragile alpine ecosystems.

An incredible fieldwork experience connecting classroom theory with hands-on environmental action!✨

Students studying Unit 2 Art Making and Exhibiting journeyed to ACCA (Australian Center for Contemporary Art) to view their new exhibition "Are you lonely tonight? I'm so lonesome I could cry".

The students viewed commissioned art work by artists from around the world that explored the idea of sadness and being lonely. This exhibition is the first of a three part series exploring human emotions.

Students were able to view works that made them question our connection with each other, society and how we process "sadness" and "connection" in our modern digital world. Students will reflect on these artworks and pair them with art that inspires them to design their own exhibition space.

Stepping into their final year of secondary school as Year 12s next year, both Giselle and Ainslie have consistently shown strong leadership, dedication, and school pride. We are excited to see them represent our student body and help lead the college community in 2027.

Last Saturday was a wonderful showcase of creativity, collaboration, critical thinking and resilience as our students took on Tournament of Minds at Deakin University 🧠✨

Our STEM and Language & Literature teams both rose to the challenge, presenting their carefully crafted long-term solutions and thinking on their feet through the spontaneous challenges on the day.

We couldn’t be prouder of the way both teams embraced every challenge, supported one another and represented Mooroolbark College with such pride, enthusiasm and confidence. 👏💙

A huge congratulations to all our students for their dedication, hard work and determination. You should be incredibly proud of yourselves, we certainly are! 🌟
