🎶💙BUSKING FOR CHANGE

Exciting news! Our students will be performing the 2026 Busking for Change song ‘Minyan Ngabangka’ at tomorrow’s assembly at 3pm! 🎶 We’d love to invite our parents, carers and families to join us for this special performance and celebration. 💙💛

Bring along some coins to pop in our busking buckets as we raise money for the Indigenous Literacy Foundation and support their important work promoting literacy and learning in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. 📚✨

🐴✨ A huge congratulations to Josie and Audrey!

Josie competed at the Pakenham Show in her very first Interschool competition, proudly representing Moorooduc, while Audrey proudly represented Moorooduc at Boneo Park! 💙💛

Both girls had an amazing weekend, with Josie placing 🥈 2nd in both Best Presented and her Rider Class, and Audrey placing 🥉 3rd in her competition! 👏🏼✨

What fantastic achievements! We are so incredibly proud of you both. Keep up the amazing work, girls! 💙💛🐴

Our Term 3 Enrichment Program - Another Huge Success! 🧠✨

This term, students explored The Boy at the Back of the Class, developing advanced comprehension, discussion and collaborative thinking skills.

The program wrapped up with a special feast of traditional Syrian foods, bringing our novel study to life and connecting students with the culture of Ahmet, the young boy at the centre of our studied story.

Through rich discussion, debate and close reading, students explored themes of kindness, empathy, fairness, justice and belonging, while making meaningful connections to our Term 3 Civics and Citizenship learning.

At Moorooduc, our teachers and leadership team regularly monitor student progress to ensure that no child is left behind, while also extending and challenging those who are excelling to reach even greater heights. 📚

At Moorooduc, we meet every child exactly where they are and help them shine. ✨💛💙

We’re especially lucky to work with two incredible therapy dogs and their owners.
Ocean from Calming Canines | Dog Training & Behaviour | SouthEast Melbourne & Lollipop from Canine Comprehension support our students to build confidence, friendships, empathy, communication and self regulation in a calm and positive environment. 🐶✨

It’s wonderful to see our students flourish, embrace new challenges & develop skills that help them feel safe, connected and ready to learn. 🐾💛

We are excited to celebrate Book Week 2026 with a whole school Book Week Dress Up Day on Friday 28th August! 📚

Students are invited to come to school dressed as their favourite book character and, if possible, bring along the book their character features in. 📖 📚

Book Week Parade: Friday 28th August

🏃‍♀️🏅 School Athletics Day 🏅🏃‍♂️

Last week, we walked up to the Moorooduc Cricket & Football Oval for a fantastic day of athletics, fun and plenty of school spirit! Our students gave everything a go, cheered each other on, celebrated each other’s successes and enjoyed a delicious BBQ. 🌭💙💛

In addition to our large oval here at school, we are so lucky to have the Moorooduc Cricket & Football Oval just a few minutes’ walk away, nestled amongst the trees and stunning Moorooduc countryside. 🌳 This beautiful space provides the perfect setting for so many of our school events, sporting activities & outdoor learning experiences.

A huge thank you to Mr Iles and all our wonderful staff for making the day such a huge success.✨

Well done to our fabulous students! Your wonderful team spirit always shines through. We are so proud of the way you support, encourage and celebrate one another. 💙💛

I Sea, I Care Incursion 🌊💙

Today, our 3/4 students had a wonderful incursion with the Dolphin Research Institute, learning about the incredible marine environment right on our doorstep.

It was such a special morning, inspiring our students to understand, care for and protect the marine environment around Port Phillip Bay. 🌊🐠🦑🐙🦈

A big thank you to everyone at dolphinresearchinstitute for sharing your knowledge and passion with our students and helping empower the next generation of marine champions! 💙💛
