Congratulations to Grace Guan who received a “Public School Parent Volunteer of the year award” last night at the Public Education Awards.
She received this for her sustained service:
Grace Guan has worked in strong partnership with the SBH school community for six years, making a sustained and valued contribution to the school’s goals and priorities.
Through close collaboration with the P&C, school staff, executive and fellow parent volunteers, Grace has helped strengthen canteen services that support student wellbeing, community participation and an inclusive school environment.
As Canteen Volunteer Coordinator, Grace has shown initiative and leadership by introducing an online volunteer registration system, improving volunteer coordination and making it easier and more welcoming for families to contribute.
Grace also expanded opportunities for participation by creating a volunteer pathway for students in the Duke of Edinburgh scheme and introduced a weekly 'lucky dip' gift voucher for parent volunteers.
Beyond day-to-day operations, Grace has encouraged parent involvement and helped sustain a service that benefits the broader school community.
