We were very lucky to be involved in Mount Gambier's Christmas Pageant today!

We would like to thank our families, staff and children for making this possible!

Recently, our R/1 and 5/6 classes joined forces to create blankets for people in need as part of A.C. Care’s Winter Blanket Appeal. With guidance and support from our educators, students worked together to learn new skills, problem-solve, and collaborate to complete these special projects.

Yesterday, our SRC representatives proudly presented the finished blankets to the A.C. Care team, knowing they will make a difference for people in our local community.

We are so proud of our students’ generosity and teamwork, and grateful to our educators for supporting this meaningful project.

BOOK WEEK 2025!

What a wonderful day of adventure organised by our wonderful Miss Baudinette and Mrs Robinson! We also had some creative activities organised by all our teachers and facilitated by the student leaders!

A great day had by all!

🌟 YEAR 6 CAMP 🌟

Our Year 6s have just finished a week long camp in Adelaide, staying at Woodhouse Adventure Park. As well as Woodhouse's amazing activities, we also travelled to Monarto Safari Park and AFL Max!

We're incredibly blessed to be a part of a cluster of 7 small schools in the Mount Gambier region where our children can form friendships and connections with students from other sites in preparation for High School!

What a fabulous week it has been!

A huge congratulations to our Pedal Prix Team shared with Yahl Primary School. Led by teacher Penne Paltridge and colleagues from Yahl, our amazing team brought home first place in the Junior School mixed division! Well done team!

At Moorak, we know that high-stakes, new learning needs to be taught well. However, we also know the importance of students understanding WHY we teach the way we teach.

Our School Captain, Levi, has done a great job at explaining how a structured literacy approach and explicit instruction supports learners' cognitive load to learn and retrieve information.

In the comments, we have also added a great video for families explaining explicit instruction and its benefits!

A message from our School Captains; Levi and Milla!

Today we went on a tour of Mount Gambier's Foodbank SA & Central Australia facilities. It was amazing to see how much it helps our local community and the amount of donations that contribute to their non-for-profit organisation. We learnt:

- In the last 12 months, Foodbank has donated 600 000ml in the Limestone Coast region; 100 000 more then they have done before!

- Today our school donated 40.2kg or 81ml of donations

- Many local businesses have supported Foodbank to expand their current location in Mount Gambier which now includes a huge industrial Fridge/Freezer and an undercover delivery area

- It is also incredible how many volunteers they have that make this service available. We thank all those who work and volunteer their time for such a great cause

Thank you so much for allowing us to visit and learn about this amazing organisation; we're so grateful for the donations that make our daily breakfast club possible!
