Well ‘folks’ - it’s been a long time coming but it’s finally done!
Moora Residential College finally had its official opening at 3.30 this afternoon.
Sadly with COVID restrictions on numbers in place it was not the huge celebration we hoped for when construction began but we had representatives from across all of our major support groups.
The facility looks MAGNIFICENT - credit goes to the architect (and I did have to let him know I was the one that caused him all the grief at the start)......in the end he did a wonderful job and worked hard alongside College staff to ensure we got the full $8.7m worth of bang for our buck.
At the end of it all, everyone, students, staff, parents community members and even politicians are happy with the outcome, a fantastic facility for students to access Central Midlands Senior High School for decades to come.
It’s been a huge win win for us in Moora our numbers at the College have doubled since the campaign ended and we are just about at maximum capacity - our high school numbers have increased and therefore the educational opportunities for both local and boarding students has also increased.
As everyone knows this in turn generates a better economy for both the town and its surrounds with people always looking at educational opportunities for their kids when considering working or investing in the area......and we now have one of the best in the area.
Well done to each and every person near and far who was involved in helping us Save Moora College - time for a well deserved pat on the back!
On a side note, I must say though I was a little disappointed our friend DW didn’t have more to say, especially with an election coming up 😉 he did leave rather abruptly though without even a goodbye or catch ya later! Was it something we said? 🤔😂😂😂
