Thank you to everyone for responding about the camp, however this is to let you know that SLAM Camp will not be running in January 2023. We will see what the future holds but for January 2023, there will be no SLAM.

The Learning Creative is a NFP set up to reduce the sense of isolation felt by students with literacy/numeracy learning differences, and their families.

After the success of camps pre covid, we are gaging interest for January 2023.

Why not send your child along to the SLAM Camp (structured literacy and numeracy) for 4 days of groups instruction, building their sense of confidence and reducing their sense of isolation?

Fun afternoon incursions!

Before committing to the organisation of SLAM Camp in January 2023, we would love to get your Expressions of Interest to decide whether or not to go ahead.

If you want to send your child/children to SLAM camp, please MESSAGE through our Facebook messenger, OR at the BOTTOM OF THIS POST.

Some details:
The camp is designed to bring together students who struggle with literacy and/or numeracy and provide them with intensive, explicit, and structured support in small groups.
All educators are specialist trained.
The purpose of the camp is to have fun with other students who have had similar educational experiences and to build relationships and self-esteem.

WHO Students going into year 1-7 in 2023
WHEN January 17-20 (Tuesday-Friday 2023)
WHERE Brighton, Victoria
TIME 9-3 approx each day
TIMETABLE Literacy OR Numeracy in morning sessions, fun incursions in the afternoon.
COST approx $400

Previously the MSL Club, The Learning Creative embraces explicit MSL and OG pedagogies in Literacy and Numeracy to support students from years 1-7, as well as foster strengths and relationships.

There have been some requests for there to be a component of the camp for teenagers. Last time we ran Project Ignite, focussing on writing skills.
