Today we celebrated Talk Like a Pirate Day with our little crew!

There were plenty of “ARRRGHHHs”, cheeky pirates and swashbuckling fun as our little learners embraced a day of pirate adventures.

We love any excuse to bring a little extra imagination and magic into our day, and today our centre was certainly full of it!

🪴 Little Green Thumbs! 🪴

Today, our Preschool children have been busy planting some tomatoes and strawberries, as well as a few other little seeds! Over the coming weeks, the children will nurture and tend to the plants and observe their growth! 🌱

This experience is part of our Green Leaves Inside Out Program, which supports the overall health and wellbeing of children.

The focus this month is on ‘farm to table’ and understanding how food is grown and prepared for us to eat. Keep an eye out in the foyer for our Preschoolers’ gardening over the coming days 🍓

Today we wore yellow and took a little extra time to check in, connect, and remind each other how much the little things matter.

A kind word, a helping hand, making someone laugh, or simply noticing when someone isn’t quite themselves can make a bigger difference than we realise.

From 22 August to 28 August, we celebrated Book Week 2026 as we shared in the magic of books, stories, and imagination, inspiring a lifetime love of reading and storytelling 📖 ✨

Celebrating this year’s theme, ‘Symphony of Stories’, our Educators and children stepped out of the pages of their favourite stories, bringing their beloved characters to life with vibrant colours and costumes.

Uluru 🧡☀️

Our Preschool children have been diving into a wonderful project all about Uluru, and we have loved watching their learning continue to grow as their curiosity takes them in new directions.

They’ve discovered some fascinating facts about Uluru, including how it appears to change colour at different times of the day, explored the rock art found within its caves, and learned the story of Liru, the poisonous snake, and its connection to Uluru.

And, as always, the children have been finding their own creative ways to bring their learning to life!

They began by creating their very own papier-mâché Uluru, carefully adding colours and textures inspired by what they had discovered.

Their project has now grown to include a cave, where the children have been creating their own cave-inspired drawings and artwork.

It has been so lovely to see their questions, conversations, and discoveries turn into something they can see, touch, and create together.

We can’t wait to see where their learning takes them next!

HAPPY EDUCATORS’ DAY ✨🍃

Today, we celebrated the incredible people who make Green Leaves Moonee Beach what it is.

Early childhood education is important work. Every day, our Educators nurture, teach, comfort, encourage, laugh with, advocate for, and genuinely care for the little people entrusted to us.

They create safe spaces where children feel they belong, where confidence grows, friendships begin, and so many important “firsts” happen.

Behind all of that is a team of people who give so much of themselves to what they do, and today was about making sure they know just how valued and appreciated they are.

And of course, we had to celebrate in true Moonee Beach style!

The brief: dress for the WRONG OCCASION.

For a Team that has never met a dress-up theme they couldn’t take too far, this was possibly our finest work 😂

Absolutely no idea where anyone thought they were going today… but it definitely wasn’t work.

10/10 commitment. 10/10 chaos. Would absolutely do again.

To our beautiful team… thank you for the energy, love, humour and care you bring through our doors every day. We see how much you give, and we are so grateful for each and every one of you.
