JULIA CARROLL
Piano

Julia Carroll is an experienced teacher with over 20 years of experience teaching music to students of all ages, from early childhood through to teenagers and adult beginners. She holds a Master of Teaching from the University of New England and a Bachelor’s degree from The Australian National University. Her extensive piano teaching experience spans various settings, including private tuition, music schools, early learning centres, and primary and secondary schools She was a piano and group music teacher with The International School of Music (Sydney) and The Music Learning Centre (Canberra), and later founded and directed Julala’s Tuition in Sydney, where she worked extensively as a piano teacher alongside her roles in languages and early childhood education.
In addition to building repertoire, Julia’s lessons incorporate a variety of rhythm, singing and theory activities to encourage the development of well-rounded musicians. She has extensive experience preparing students for music exams and performances and holds practical and theory qualifications with the Australian Music Examinations Board (AMEB) and Australia and New Zealand Cultural Arts (ANZCA). She also completed Music Together (USA) teacher training, strengthening her expertise in early childhood music development and playful, research-based approaches to learning.
For Julia, music education is about building skills, confidence, and a love of music that lasts well beyond the lesson. She looks forward to sharing her love of music with every student and helping them grow in confidence, creativity, and skill at their own pace.
