🏐 Netball Stars Shine in Bundaberg! 🏐

What a fantastic day for our netball teams at the Combined Schools' Netball Competition in Bundaberg! 🎉

A huge congratulations to all of our players for their effort, teamwork and determination throughout the day. You represented our school with pride, and we couldn’t be more proud of you!

Congratulations to one of our senior teams, who finished🥈Runner’s Up in the Senior Mixed Division!

A big thank you to our coaches, Mrs Donna Walls and Mrs Natalie Tucker, for giving their time, encouragement and support to our teams.

We’d also like to recognise our fantastic student referees, Theo and Pippa, who did an amazing job.

And a huge thank you to Steve for the driving the bus today!

🎓🌟 A huge congratulations to Addison in Year 12 for participating in JCU’s Heroes in Health Program! 🌟🎓

This amazing program gives Year 11 and 12 students the chance to gain practical skills, explore their dream careers, and experience what their future could look like. Designed to provide a realistic ‘day in the life’ experience of various fields, the Heroes Program is an incredible opportunity to get hands-on and inspired.

With the support of JCU Advisors, Addison has taken an exciting step towards achieving her career goals.

Well done, Addison – we’re so proud of your hard work and ambition! 👏✨

What a fantastic afternoon! 🏉

A huge thank you to Eidsvold State School for visiting us today and taking on our All Schools Touch Football team in preparation for the upcoming competition.

We also had a mixed team take to the field, making it a great opportunity for students from both schools to get together, enjoy some friendly competition and build connections. It was fantastic to see our two schools coming together for such a positive afternoon of sport, teamwork and fun! 👏

A special thank you to Mr Kuhz from Eidsvold SS and Mr McCabe from Monto SHS for organising the event and making the afternoon possible.

We really appreciate your support and sportsmanship, Eidsvold SS — we look forward to seeing you again on the sporting field! 🏉

Over the next two weeks, our focus will be on two important expectations:

🌟 UQ Medical Students Visit Monto SHS for Rural Immersion Program! 🌟

Last Friday, Monto State High School had the privilege of hosting a group of medical students from the University of Queensland as part of the Rural Immersion Program. This initiative aims to connect future doctors with rural communities and inspire the next generation of healthcare professionals.

Our students who are interested in health pathways had the unique opportunity to:
🩺 Learn about the diverse journeys each UQ medical student took to pursue a career in medicine.
❓ Ask questions about studying medicine and working in healthcare.
❤️ Participate in a hands-on CPR session

A huge thank you to the UQ medical students for sharing their time, knowledge, and enthusiasm with us! Your visit has sparked curiosity and inspired our students to explore careers in health.

🌟 Rowing Fun at Monto SHS 🌟

A huge thank you to Bundaberg Rowing Club for visiting Monto SHS at lunchtime yesterday to share information about rowing with our students and give them the opportunity to learn about the sport of rowing.

Our students also took part in an Inter-House rowing team challenge, competing to see which House could row the furthest! There was plenty of teamwork, enthusiasm and friendly competition.

A big thank you to Mrs Zumbansen for organising the visit and creating this fantastic opportunity for our students.
And a special thank you to Dellice and Ben, who represent Monto SHS in rowing, for helping out and supporting the activities today.

What a great way to spend lunchtime!
