What is Bang Muay Thai?

Bang Muay Thai (BMT) was founded by world renowned coach and former UFC fighter Duane Ludwig. Drawing inspiration from traditional Muay Thai, Dutch Kickboxing, Western Boxing, and modern combat sports, Ludwig developed a dynamic striking system focused on efficiency, timing, footwork, angles, and powerful combinations.

The system has produced world class fighters and has been used successfully at the highest levels of professional combat sports, including the UFC.

At Kardas Dojo, students learn:
🥊 Powerful boxing combinations
🦵 Devastating kicks, knees, and elbows
⚡ Advanced footwork and movement
💪 Fitness, conditioning, and self-confidence
🔥 Real-world striking skills in a safe and supportive environment

We are incredibly proud of our two fighters who represented our Dojo and Australia at the 2026 World Sabaki Challenge.

Cooper Sikkes was honoured by Kancho Joko Ninomiya with the 2026 Spirit Award — an award presented each year to the fighter who demonstrates outstanding fighting spirit throughout the tournament This is an incredible achievement and a true reflection of Cooper’s heart, determination, and warrior spirit.

I am also extremely proud of Marcus, who captured this year’s Middleweight World Championship with an outstanding display of timing, technique, and composure. His exciting fighting style was one of the highlights of the tournament, winning 2 of his 3 matches by TKO doctor’s stoppage.

Marcus is now Australia’s first-ever World Sabaki Challenge World Champion, and one of the youngest fighters in history to achieve this at just 21 years old. His lifelong dedication, discipline, and commitment to training and occasionally listening to his Dad, have led him to this incredible result. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for him.

I hope these achievements inspire the younger students in our Dojo to follow Marcus’ example and dedicate themselves to their training. Results like this are built through years of hard work, sacrifice, consistency, and commitment.

Just a short update on our week so far as we prepare for tomorrow's World Sabaki Challenge.

Training this week has been intense and incredibly productive. We started on Monday morning training with Kancho at the Enshin Headquarters, followed by the rest of the week working hard alongside the team at the Bang Muay Thai World Headquarters. It has been an outstanding preparation leading into the World Tournament.

Both Cooper and Marcus are in great condition and have adjusted well to the altitude here in Denver. We are all sincerely grateful to Kancho and Sensei Duane Ludwig from Bang Muay Thai for the hard training, guidance, and support in the lead-up to the tournament.

Tonight, we attended the official weigh-ins, and I’m proud to say that both Marcus and Cooper successfully made weight and are ready for tomorrow. They have both worked incredibly hard over the past four months, and we are extremely proud of their commitment, dedication, and fighting spirit.

Unfortunately, there is no official live stream of the tournament available in Australia. However, we will do our best to live stream Marcus and Cooper’s matches through our YouTube channel, “Enshin Australia,” although this will depend on the quality of the internet connection at the venue.

I would also like to sincerely thank Sensei Scott, Senpai Michelle, Matt, and Dan for running classes in my absence. I apologise if I have missed anyone, but please know I am extremely grateful for everyone’s support and help back home.

I will do my best to continue keeping everyone updated over the coming days.

Osu!
