Extending our Paw Patrol, water, bubbles and counting interests into a washing station!!
The children are using their fine motor skills to use spoons and paint brushes to was their vehicles. They are also counting spoonfuls of water to see how many it takes to fill their Paw Patrol vehicles with water. Their love of painting and paint brushes is being transferred into scrubbing the “dirt” from the wheels and tops. They are also giving their characters a bath! They are recycling the water they use to fill the vehicles by pouring it back into their “pools” and reusing it.
They are also using their social skills and sharing abilities by swapping thei cars over. Verbal and non verbal communication is also being used between each other. It soon became a role playing game as they began use their imagination to animate their characters!!

Sorry its taken so long to post something!! But yesterday, we had so much fun outside in this beautiful autumn 🍂weather! We rode our “motorbikes” 🏍 down the drive way in our outside yard, we did chalk drawings on our big paper, we were “monkeys” 🐒 and “kings of the world” 🤴🏼 on the climbing frame!! Then, we took it in turns on the “kite” 🪁 swing and really enjoyed pushing each other 🥰. We also tested our balance on the “big person swing”! After a few crashes, we had it worked out and were able to keep ourselves on!! YAY!!

Today, we’re making cardboard cylinder binoculars to see what we can find outside, riding out motorbikes all over again, painting, playing with our new marbles and whatever else comes our way!!

This morning the children enjoyed using and developing their fine motor and social skills whilst using stickers to decorate their Easter Eggs. They observed what each other was doing on their pages and transferred that to their own page. Working on our sharing skills (still a way to go with that one! 🤣) they were encouraged to pass around the sticker sheet as well as help each other to peel the stickers from the backing sheet.
We then moved on to practicing with scissors. Mr. H particularly enjoyed this activity, mastering his technique of handling the scissors and being able to cut the small line with precision and control. Miss W wandered off during this one, preferring scrap paper and getting it for more of her Easter Egg. Tannah-Rose tried really hard with the scissors, it was a really good effort!

Outside, we enjoyed some beautiful sunshine and played on the swings, taking it in turns on the nest swing, which proved to be everyone’s favourite!! Gross motor skills were engaged to climb, run, jump, slide and push each other on the swing. Mr. H pushed himself passed his comfort zone when he climbed to the top of the slide, expressing he was scared to be up there and didn’t want to slide down, he held my hands and slid down. Needless to say, he loved it after that!! Miss W enjoyed challenging herself when it came to equipment, often sliding down the stairs and then climbing back up, missing the bottom 2 and 3 steps to see how high she could reach her leg up. She also found some pretty yellow flowers that she expressed great pride in! Tannah-Rose loved jumping from the stairs and sliding down the big and little slides, just to land on her face in the grass 🤣. They all used their developing hand-eye coordination, as well as working on understanding turn taking, with the tether ball. They also showed persistence in trying to get the ball if and when they missed.

Throughout the day, the children have engaged in imaginative play, co-operation, hand-eye co-ordination, language development, social play, persistence, self regulation, fine and gross motor skills as well as risky play and pushing themselves to achieve a task that they were apprehensive about attempting. I really love observing their blossoming friendships, for better and for worse 🙊
