Last week, students across the School celebrated Science Week, bringing science to life through hands-on learning, curiosity and collaboration.

From science trivia, a Science Display, an Amazing Race and Science Show to classroom activities including seed bomb making, colouring and practical experiments, students had plenty of opportunities to investigate, create and discover.

A highlight was seeing our Primary and Secondary students learning alongside one another, giving younger students the opportunity to explore science with their older peers while building connections across our Kโ€“12 community.

Thank you to our Science Faculty for creating an engaging week that encouraged students to ask questions, think critically and see science at work in the world around them. ๐Ÿ™Œ

Last week, our Year 8 Italian students enjoyed a hands-on excursion to Moama Pizza Restaurant, where they discovered the art of traditional pizza making.

From preparing and shaping the dough to selecting toppings and learning authentic techniques, students gained valuable insight into the process of creating the perfect pizza. They then put their new skills into practice, crafting their own delicious pizzas from dough to oven, with impressive results.

A huge ๐˜จ๐˜ณ๐˜ข๐˜ป๐˜ช๐˜ฆ to Lara for sharing her expertise, passion and generosity with our students. It was a fantastic cultural and culinary experience that brought Italian language and culture to life in the most delicious way possible.

What a fantastic week our Year 9 students had at Mt Buller for Alpine Camp!

The week provided students with the opportunity to challenge themselves, step outside their comfort zones and experience something new. Whether they were learning to ski or snowboard, navigating the slopes, encouraging their peers or simply embracing the many challenges that come with being away from home, our students demonstrated wonderful resilience, perseverance and teamwork showing that learning often happens well beyond the classroom.

Beyond the skiing and snowboarding, the camp was filled with laughter, friendship and plenty of memorable moments. Students returned home with new skills, greater confidence and, most importantly, some wonderful memories shared with their classmates.

A sincere thank you to the wonderful staff who gave their time to attend and support the camp. Their enthusiasm, care and commitment made the experience possible and ensured our students were able to enjoy such a valuable and memorable opportunity. ๐Ÿ’™

Our Secondary team made history at the Border Independent Secondary School Association (BISSA) Athletics Carnival in Albury on Thursday 30 July, winning the overall school award for the first time in MAGโ€™s history. A total of 33 Secondary students qualified for the Combined Independent Schools Championships in Sydney on Tuesday 22 September.

Our Primary team continued MAGโ€™s success at the Riverina Associated Schools (RAS) Athletics Carnival in Albury on Tuesday 4 August, winning the Champion School title for the second consecutive year. A total of 27 Primary students qualified for the Combined Independent Schools Championships in Sydney on Friday 4 September.

Across both carnivals, students achieved personal bests, broke records and stepped outside their comfort zones to fill events for their teams.

A special thank you to our Head of Athletics, Mrs Kate Downward, for her outstanding preparation, coaching and encouragement across both carnivals. Thank you also to Mrs Claudia Moore, Mr Anthony McMahon, Mr Trent Grey and Mrs Stacey Briggs for their valuable support.

Our Year 9/10 Music students recently transformed the music room into a live concert venue, performing an exciting show for an enthusiastic audience of Year 3 students as the culmination of their unit, The Stage.

From designing tickets and costumes to managing front of house, emceeing and performing, students took ownership of every aspect of the production. Their diverse song choices, energetic performances and creative stage presence had the audience singing, cheering and joining in the fun.

This authentic learning experience showcased far more than musical talent, it developed teamwork, creativity, organisation and confidence while giving students first-hand experience of what it takes to produce a live performance.

A wonderful celebration of student creativity, collaboration and learning in action. ๐Ÿ‘๐ŸŽค
